Hey, that's not a real word!

But the New York Times Crossword puzzle used it anyway. Saturday, June 14ths NYT puzzle, clue 1.A: Modern coinage meaning intuition without regard to the facts.

The answer: "Truthiness", the world coined by none other than Stephen Colbert.

In all truthiness, it is a word.

I love Stephen Colbert. I always warn my students about Wikiality when doing research papers too.

I volunteer as a judge at local science fairs. It is pretty disturbing how the only background "research" cited in many projects is Wikipedia.

I did improv in Chicago many years ago with a young man from Carleton College who is now a write for the Colbert Report.
