"Milwaukee police said they have restored order this morning but will remain outside of the Marcia P. Coggs Human Services Center after a crowd awaiting free food vouchers - which never were to be distributed - became unruly this morning."

2,500 people showed up for nonexistent food vouchers this morning.

I predict that it will get worse before it gets better.

Tommy Thompson did a great thing in eliminating welfare benefits. Teaching the poor to fend for themselves is working wonders.

I changed the headline. Turns out these are applicants for flood relief.

What's even better is that in order to get the 'emergency' food stamps, you do not have to supply income information NOR any proof you suffered any flood damage. I think I'll go and apply for some 'free' foodstamps.

Somehow, the word got around that food vouchers were being handed out, when in reality, they were handing out the applications for food vouchers. An am just curious to know how many of the 2,000+ that showed up would have been there if the message hadn't got screwed up.
