"City administrator accused of harassment"

http://www.journaltimes.com/articles/2008/07/21/local_news/doc488540c04bf69493196434.txt

Wow. I don't know what else to say. I don't know anything about any of it, so it's kind of like gawking at a traffic accident. Morbid curiosity. I wonder how this will play out?

All I know is Ben Hughes is a very scary guy - I shook his hand once and it was cold, wet & slimy. Becker was the one who hired Tingle in the first place - she & her husband were major contributors to his campaign. Since Hughes arrived at City Hall there have been more than a couple employees who were rudely & suddenly axed without any explanation at all.

I don't know any of them personally. I would think there is more to it than a fabrication on her part. You have to have some solid evidence to have this move forward - at least I would hope so.

It is sure gonna get ugly, and I assume we will be privy to all the sordid details. Just the kind of thing that sells newspapers..... geeze.

Perhaps Tingle was fired for stirring the martinis when the boys wanted them shaken.

It sounds so hokey...I would think any guy with half a working brain wouldn't discuss his sex life at work.

Let's see how it plays out....

I do not know any of the players here.

Definitely on the fence with this one. I love the James Bond-esque comment, but, it is now summertime. The boys have switched from Martinis to Gin & Tonics.

At the very least her timing sucks. It will be interesting to watch, hopefully the reporting will stay in tune with the actions of it all.

I don't know any involved or even close to this but it sounds like she is trying to get a severance package that was not available to her. Chances are there are plenty of comments made by all parties that are in a gray area, could be construed as harassment in certain situations and at certain times, and that the city will settle out of court. Then again, the city is self-insured, right? maybe this one won't be driven by an insurance company after all!

I just read all 80 comments on the story at the Journal Times' site. My eyes are bleeding. Apparently, Henry and Wanda's is where the elite meet. The Racine Post has an interesting take on this: is Alderman Coe behind the "attacks" on Ben Hughes? http://news.racinepost.com/2008/07/coe-behind-attacks-on-hughes.html

And TNT thinks it knows drama...

Tonight I am sorry to say that I do know everyone involved in this - though apparently not very well. I can't even imagine my own opinion about it anymore.

I am one of a hundred witnesses who saw the same thing at the same time in a hundred different ways. It is bizarre & scandalous & hilarious & frightening at the same time. What you thought was true an hour ago turns out to be a lie.

But what is truly amazing is this whole internet instant access blogging public connection thing - who needs newspapers anymore? This is the real up-to-the-minute hot-off-the-press ultimate communication, sordid as it may be.

And I can't wait to hear the latest...

To bad I didn't know about this, this past Friday. Jeff is a friend of mine and I was talking with him at the Festival Site.

I should call him just for shits & giggles to see what I can find out.
