No, Brett! Don't Do It!

There is talk of Brett Farve coming out of retirement. I am sad to report that if he does, he is doomed.

Yep, he made the mistake of appearing on the cover of the Madden NFL football game, subjecting himself to the dreaded Madden Curse.

Good luck, Brett!

I predict that next he'll do like Michael Jordan and try to play baseball.

Since when does Bill Nye believe in curses? Hale, you're you're not being very scientific! ;>

I wish we knew the whole story. I really liked to watch Brett play. Not sure how I'll feel about his replacement. If this is just him being wishy-washy though, not a very heroic thing to do. You shouldn't tell everyone you are done and retire, tell Aaron Rogers he is it (he has been patient) and then change your mind. I just have this feeling there is/was more sneaky stuff by the Packer organization going on that we don't know about.

kk, I agree with you 100%. I think that Ted Thompson was never a Brett Favre fan; Aaron Rogers was always his choice for the team.

I have no idea what is going on (or going to go on) in Green Bay. But I think that Brett Favre as quarterback for a team other than the Packers is the first sign of the Apocalypse.

As much as admire Brett Farve(the guy's an icon in my book),I would HATE to see him play for another team-especially the Bears or the Vikings. Personally,I felt when Brett said he'd retire,he would stay retired. To me,it's a dawn of a new era for the Packers. The Packers have basicly the same as last year. If Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy, the Packers will do alright.

I believe since Brett is retired and wants to come back Green Bay they should accept him back but put him in a position of their choice. If they are going to release him (since it’s all about money) Brett should be traded as any other player is.

oops!-same team as last year.

Well, if the Madden Curse holds true, the Packers are better off trading/releasing him. What if he somehow ends up GB's starting qb again and sustains a season-ending injury? Will we still have Rodgers to kick around?

Yeah, kk, I was fully aware of the irony of me being the one to make the post about the curse...but just couldn't resist!

It would be strange to see him play for someone else. Farve was one of the true elite quarterbacks and associated with only one team. How many people remember Joe Montana playing for Kansas City?

Brett should show up for camp since he will eventually start for the Pack. Rogers is the starting quarterback now, but par for the course, in the fourth quarter of the first pre-season game he will get hurt and be out for 8 weeks.

Why would someone revered as a god want to tarnish their image?

Brett, time to go spend time with your children.

In addition to Montana, let's not forget Thiesman. He got his leg snapped in two by the Giants defensive line. Is that something you really want to happen to you, Mr. Farve? You are not as quick as you used to be.
