If memory serves me

Ok, I know we discussed a lot of things on Saturday, but does anyone remember this:

http://www.journaltimes.com/articles/2008/08/05/local_news/doc489893f233e48435566872.txt

If my memory serves me, neither the Mayor nor the two Aldermen made any mention of this referendum.

It didn't exist until the end of Monday's meeting of the City Council as a whole, when Greg Helding proposed it.

Wow, I'm duly impressed with Mr. Helding.

I hope you are aa because Mr. Helding's main agenda is to be the new mayor.

Hey, the mayor just posted a comment on that news story on the Journal Times site:

"Mayor gary becker wrote: August 5, 2008 11:31PM CST

"Please read the article. The 'we don't have to rush it' comment refers to the drafting of the referendum language.

"The vote would not be before the November election even if we did 'rush' things. This is the jumping to conclusions and unneccessary bashing based on the wrong interpretation of things that make bloggers look like fools sometimes.

"And please give up on the administrator and grant faciltator bashing. Over the years the administrators position has saved the city millions of dollars. The grant facilitator position has existed for years, but was just never called that.

"Please read things a bit more carefully. I am always available to answer questions by phone or see anyone that calls for an appointment."

Becker's a blogger! I betcha he's half the trolls on the Journal Times site. Maybe he's even my evil nemesis: Scoop/TJ/JT!
