Your holiday plans, foiled?

Today and tomorrow have been deemed Ozone Action Days. The level we can expect today is in the orange category, between 101 and 150, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive individuals.

So how will this affect your holiday plans? The EPA recommends that you:

1. limit your time spent outdoors
2. drive less
3. don't fill your gas tank; if you must, do it after 7 pm.
4. don't mow the grass or run yard equipment
5. don't run jet skis, outboard motors, atvs
6. If you must grill outdoors (heck, it is the holiday) use a charcoal chimney or electric starter, not lighter fluid
7. conserve energy

It is recommended that you "limit physical exertion between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m."

Will you alter your plans at all?

I'm planning on laying low...sounds to me like relaxing with cocktails, indoors, with the air conditioning set not too low is the solution.

So, can I use this as an excuse not to do the laundry today?

yes Orbs, you're going to NOT do laundry to protect the planet today!!

I have bad asthma so these days keep be grounded, but really its' not much different. I am allergic to pretty much everything outside anyways, so I'm not out there alot as it is. I worked, came home early, and have been puttering around on projects, happily cool just looking out at the sunshine and not getting burned :)
We're heading out to lunch soon, there, my big ativity today, then home to more projects

LM, tell that to a 87 year old mom. I AM doing the laundry today, and I better not talk back about it, or else!

You know, Orbs, when my mother was in her mid 70's, she pulled my younger brother off me when we were goofing off (yeah, I know, we were in our mid 30's!)...anyway, my brother is 6'9" and his mother still could set him in his place. It was the family joke....we did not screw with Mom!

Oh, she was a retired school teacher...not that I think she learned those moves from the school system!

I don't trust the EPA. I hear all the people that work there are loosers.
But nah, the heat had more affect then the ozone day
