Boulder meteor did not make it to Earth, but burned up in the atmosphere over Africa as predicted. halebopp must have been too busy to give us the follow up on this. With the normal meteor caused by a grain of sand size entry, this bigger size really wasn't as big a deal as what I had imagined it to be. Even the picture isn't that impressive. What was I expecting? Full story here: msnbc.msn.com/Now for some fun.....

How did we miss this one????? This looks like a fun time, maybe to watch, not necessarily participate. Great way to raise money for charity! Glad there are rescue people on hand... just in case!
Next year anyone? ha ha... Website here:

Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest: Where Bigger is Better

We should start our own pumpkin regatta, the JTI Invitational or something like that. Hold it at Myers Park, where they have the dragonboat races. Think DRC would sponsor us?
I don't know about THAT sponsorship, orbs. tee hee...
I just know it takes me at least an hour to carve a regular size pumpkin and scoop out the guts. YUK and gross. I'm always swearing I'll NEVER do it again!!! And, I always count my blessings that I still have all 10 digits when I'm done.
While I love to kayak, I think I'll sit that one out and instead have a beverage as a spectator.
Hey, this is my first post. That pumkin regatta looks like an awesome time, but a lot of work. Mainly because you have to empty out the maybe 650 pound pumpkin, and then give it a seat (if you want one) and then have to acually race in it.
Welcome random taco! It is always great to see posts from new people.
I would have to have at least 6 of them tied together to make a raft so I could sit on top and have a beer. I know I wouldn’t win but it would be good for grin!!
Hi random taco.
Just tie empty beer kegs together. They would make a great raft. That would be a good JTI event. First your group has to empty the kegs by consuming the beer inside, then build a raft out of them and float it out to a specific point and back. The losers drown. :D
I wouldn't be into it but would toast the seeds for snacks for those willing to float their 'boat' :)
Welcome Random Taco!
I was hoping to find a cool image to post, but alas, it never came.
Oh, and welcome random taco...great name.
