Fear of a Blank Planet

Stu had me playing with music all morning. This song is one I keep coming back to....something about it. I think it really rocks. Just had to share it with you.

I apologize in advance for the creepy video that goes with it. Porcupine Tree uses children, drugs, guns and violence to make a point... and it sure does. The end scene really gets to me... you can imagine why, working in a school.

Wow. This is the perfect description of a lot of the kids my daughter hangs out with and who she really wants to be... our culture is so toxic to children, and even tho I've tried to protect my kids from it, it's still impacted both of them. I have no doubt this is how my younger one will be in a few years, and there's not much you can do to stop it:-(

I think that is the band's point in using kids in the videos. I'm sure it is the shock they are looking for. We {collectively} have really let down this generation. There are a lot of them looking for someone to draw some lines in the sand. For so many children, no one is "minding the store."

Cyndi, you are doing something right. Your kids were able to come and say hello to us irregular grownups the day we were there. They had manners and were very pleasant little humans.

Wow². Tight, gritty song. Stunning, shocking video.

Interesting subject. So far,so good with my son. He's young,yet-only in 6th grade. I know that I have a tough road ahead of me. He has seen a lot and is very perceptive. I remember what is like when I a teenager. Did a lot of stupid things which I'm not to proud of and later regret. All I can do is vow to the best job that I can,as a parent,to guide him the right path to be a responsible adult.

Oh-about the video. I liked it. Sorta reminds me Pearl Jam's Jeremy. Story line wise.

I borrowed this album from the library. It features Alex Lifeson, guitarist from Rush,on it as a special guest. For some reason,I never got around to burning it. Going to have try again.
