The Faint in Milwaukee
Enough carping about negative things like what the JT is doing to ban their users. It is time to act like children on our own. In Stu's Friday night absence, I give you a video to broaden your horizons. It's different from the norm... for sure.
The Faint is in Milwaukee tonight. I'm not going. I would like to, but must acquiesce that I am no longer of the age where I could slip into this crowd without getting a few looks like, "Gawd, what dork brought their mom here?" I'm sure it would be fun but definitely a different evening.
The Faint is a new-wave, dance, indie rock band, with punk tonality that originate from Nebraska. Hip punk, growing from the plains of corn land, go figure. I particularly like this song, "The Geeks Were Right", being the self proclaimed geekish babe I like to think I am....
"Egg head boys with thin white legs, they've got modified features and software brains, but that's what the girls like...when I saw the future, the geeks were right....." How can you not like those lyrics? hahahahaha
They're playing at the Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee. I've never been there. Never even heard of it.
You should have gone, kk. I went to see Hole at the Riverside when I was in my 40's. The audience was full of teenagers. Who cares? I saw Garbage at the Eagles Ballroom and the audience was mostly 20-somethings. I'm there for the music, not the crowd.
Hey! We can go to concerts together, chicka, 'cause there's power in numbers;-) We'll start our own "cool girls over 30" revolution, lol! Some of the most fun people I know are in the 60's, and I suspect they were just awesome people all the way thru, never let life and it's expectations get them down-- in fact, Maude (a la "Harold and Maude") has been my role model since I was a young-un (altho she's at least 100 times more youthful than I've ever been; I'm hoping once I get thru these not-so-fun parenting years I can get back to being the impetuous girlie I USED to be...). Anyhoo, you can always call me, girl. I'm always up for something interesting...
p.s. I ALSO saw Hole, Mr Orbs, with Nine Inch Nails, fun! Totally would have been even better if I hadn't brought my teenage stepdaughter, lol;-) I dressed up all goth-y just for fun in some bondage looking sort of dress, and of course ran into someone I went to high school with. Much to my horror, she exclaimed: "Cyndi, it's not the 80's anymore!!!". Gawd! I could have just died (anyone else hate the stupid grunge days of the 90's? I'll take goth-glam anyday over a sloppy t-shirt and baggy jeans, ugh!)

Pretty neat. The video is like a mixture of Max Headroom and Jimi Hendrix. Who said psychedelic was dead?
I love the heavy guitar and bass riffs on this song. It's quite catchy. More information on The Faint on this website.
KK,I felt that way when I saw Bon Jovi in 1989. The audience consisted mostly of young teenage girls with their parents.
