Why Groceries Are So Expensive

Did you catch this story about the 2 ladies that were arrested after stealing $35,000 from their employer, Pick and Save, right here in Racine? These ladies had to be pretty busy to accomplish this grand feat in approximately 6 months.

I checked our local newspaper website, all I saw there was an article about the snow and the Packer game. I saw this on the Milwaukee news last night...

kk, I saw it on the RJT site last week...maybe Friday or Saturday...I do know it was there.

I saw it, too.

You have to wonder about store security when this went on for 6 months. They reviewed tapes afterward and found many instances where the cashiers failed to ring up purchases. Why weren't the tapes reviewed before? What's the point of taping if you're not going to look at them?

I don't patronize that store much. The place is not safe, The outside security that they have in the parking lot is a joke, often sleeping during a shift.

And they admitted to being wrong but just couldn't stop...amazing.

I believe women are safer at Pick & Save then they are at Walmart. There have been several time women have been rob in Wally World parking lot.

I remember when Wally World first opened. I went in there and thought I had found all the tenants we had evicted! A month or so later, they fired a bunch who had managed to steal $10,000 in the first month alone.

I shop at the Pick N Save across from Regency and the one on Spring when I'm in town.

I think you need to be careful whenever you are out. I never go shopping after dark.

I just heard on the news that a woman was mugged at a mall. The newscaster reminded women not to shop alone.... Please. Now we can't even go to the store by ourselves? Give me a break.

If crooks weren't slapped on the hand and then put back on the streets, we wouldn't have these problems. It isn't normal to have to shop in groups... The police and now society has accepted this as the norm?

I've mentioned this before. I just bought 3 "pepper spray" containers. I took one out of its cute little holder and keep it in the pocket of the coat I am wearing. I feel a little safer but the whole idea of having to do this sucks.

Another issue with the store...My ex lives on Jacato. Once I went there to pick up my son and counted 23,yep 23 shopping carts along the street.

I wonder how time and money goes to send an employee to fetch them. I think maybe they should look into Aldi's quarter system.

P&S has been picking them up from Jacato ever since the store opened. We used to stack them in a lot across the road, as did Marion Hyatt. It was SOP for us back in the good old days.

Anyway, P&S would send someone with a pickup truck and he would load the darn things up and off he would go.

kk, I never shop after 4 pm in Racine. I have become so used to this little town...and while we do have occasional problems, nothing like Racine has. It is sad.

I would like to know if Pick & Save is going after the individuals who received the “stolen” goods.

P&S should have a “Wall of Shame” and put those individual’s pictures {3’ x 5’} on it.
