How to Post a Blog Here

For those of you who are unsure of how to blog on the JTI, here's some tips.

Register with JT Irregulars first. There are instructions at left, near the top of the sidebar, on how to do that.

After you've registered, sign into your Google account and log onto the JTI site. Then select the "New Post" tab at the upper right of the screen:

That will open this page:
Type your blog title here:
Type the body of your blog here:
When your blog is complete, click "Publish Post" on the lower left:
That's it! Your blog will appear on the JTI site.

The formatting tools (type font, size, italics, bold, etc.; insert images, hyperlinks, etc.) are located here. Play with them until you feel comfortable:
If you're relatively new to this, make sure that you are in "Compose" mode. If you click on "Edit HTML," everything will be in code and unintelligible to you:
If you have trouble, don't forget the "Help" tab on the upper right of the screen:

Finally, here's the "Getting Started Guide" from Blogger Help: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=112498&topic=12470. They do a much better job of explaining it than I ever could.

Happy blogging!

I'm relatively old, so everything is unintelligible to me.

I now know why I couldnt figure it out.. I wasnt actually signed in to the site so the only option I had was to create a blog.. I feel like my mother who got confused on how to turn on the computer and get on to the internet because I left step by step instructions starting from actually physically turning on the computer to signing in to her email. She got confused because the computer was already turned on...

To clarify: To author a blog, you must register with JTIrregulars, receive an email invitation, then click on the link to confirm your email. Your account then becomes activated to post blogs here. There are still author spots available.

You do not need to register to comment on blogs.

Thanks for the clarification, kk. I've amended the blog accordingly.

And if you are included as an Irregular blogger, at least one of your posts must be a blog that is totally asinine, irrevlavant to everything, silly, stupid, and must include snakes and a road trip on a bus.

I have a question. How do I post an image in the right of left hand corner in the middle of the blog? I working on a blog last night that gave me a major fit. I ended up deleting it.

Inserting images is not user friendly here. When you upload them, you're given the choice of posting them in the center, left or right (as well as large, medium or small in size). I assume you know that, drew. Every time I upload an image, it keeps the horizontal position that I specify, but it always inserts itself at the top of my blog. So I right-click on the image, click "Cut" (which removes it from the top), and then position the mouse cursor where I want the image to be, and click "Paste." That puts the image there. The text you then type in should work itself around the image.

It was very difficult and trying at first, and I also edited/deleted many attempts. I've just gotten better with practice.

Maybe someone else has a better way?

When I want to position one in a blog other than right, left or center at the top, I use "no" position placement. It still puts it initially at the top left. You can then drag and drop those babies kind of where you want them. It does take some patience.

Well,I finally got the images to where I want them. Now my issue is how start typing where I want to next to the image.(See blog above) I don't know where the excess space came from. It's a challenge, but I'm going to keep trying.

KK-I'm going try your way next time.
