Power Outage

I awoke to a cold, dark apartment. No electricity. All snow, all white outside; all black inside. Try doing your duty in a pitch black bathroom. Lol. I called WE Energies from a corded phone (the cordless one doesn't work without outside electricity). They had a recording saying that there were weather related outages in Racine and Kenosha counties. Bah. No morning coffee, no breakfast (I didn't want to open the fridge in case the outage was a long one), and, most importantly, no internet or JTI. Wah! Too crappy outside to drive anywhere. I went back to bed. At 10 AM I heard the computer's scanner reinitialize (it's always plugged in - sorry, hale) and the furnace below me kick in. Ahh.

The birds and squirrels have been in a feeding frenzy since I woke up. I've already thrown three times the usual amount of seed and nuts out there, but they show no sign of letting up. I don't know where the chipmunk is - if he's smart, he's still in bed.

An early spring snowstorm. Kind of pretty in it's own way, I guess, but a pain in the butt to a lot of people. WE Energies called back with a recording saying that the power had been restored and 1,158 customers had been affected. Mother Nature doesn't have to do much to remind us who the boss is. Thank you, thank you to the WE Energies linemen who risk life and limb for us.

I was out in Franksville last night. The weather changed very quickly. I was sopping wet just clearing my car windows.

It was a whiteout. Nothing stayed clear for long. Windshield wipers became re-coated in ice almost immediately. Couldn't see 5 feet in front of me.

No roads were plowed. People were spinning out of control left and right. Tried to stay on course by following mailboxes. I was soooo happy to make it home safely.

My power was out too. That sucks too.

I heard a huge bang, then mine went out for about 15 seconds, enough to have to reset all the clocks......

Me and the kids slept at my mas last night, no outage there. I got to my home at 2:30 today and I had to set all of the clocks.......How long was the power out?.Glad I was at Ma's last night.

Had a power outtage here and lost internet connection. I had to reset my clocks. I just regained internet connection, for how long, I don't know. I'm having serious issues with this. New modom and everything. I'm having a tech guy coming out tomorrow.

Also my TV blew, lucky I had a spare. It's been a LONG day:(

Abby, the outage here (near south side) was from 5:40 - 10 AM. Mom said a friend on the near north side was out from about the same time to 8 AM.

Drew, what a drag. Sorry about your TV. Do you have Road Runner? About once a year, I get a ghost in my connection and no matter what anyone does or doesn't do, it's screwed up. Then it miraculously fixes itself. That's happened three or four times now, both here and at the old place.

Orbs, I have DSL through TDS Metrocom. This is the second time this happened to me. Like you, I get a ghost in the connection, then after a few hours or longer, it returns to normal. I'm clueless to why. I've been thinking of switching over to Roadrunner.
