Spur of the moment get together

I will be at Old Country Buffet tomorrow for supper at 5:00. Its pretty good for a Friday Smorgasbord. I usually have a newspaper for company, but what the heck. if you find yourself twiddling your thumbs, come on down. Hey Abby, I'll pay your way, you catch the kids. Makes it more affordable for ya. Orbs, forget the cooking mess.

If it isn't at the last moment, it isn't spur of the moment... 28 hours notice is pushing it I know, but some of you guys are old and that's spur a plenty.

Oo.. I might come, but I have to see what the vehicle situation is like. I was borrowing a car for awhile there, the person I am borrowing it from told me I could use it my entire stay so I got it in for an oil change (hasnt had one in about 2 years) filled up everything, changed windshield wipers, air filter and cleaned it even shampooed the carpet. ( I was thinking I was going to have this car for a few months it really needed a cleaning I dont think that has been done in 2 years either) and then the day before yesterday I got a phone call saying that the owner of the car was on her way to pick up the car, she needed it back... of course it's her car and has every right to it, but more than a 20 minute warning would have been nice, seeming I had plans...

Sooo long story short, I will see if I can get a hand on a car and try to make it there.. you will know me by being a chubby brown haired woman with 2 girls in tow (a 2 year old and a 4 month old) Hope to see you.

I'll be dining elsewhere. I have a banquet to attend. Wish me luck at winning the door prize! Thanks for the offer though.

Sorry, pizza with mom tomorrow. It was her birthday today, but the celebration continues tomorrow. And next Tuesday, when my sister will be back in town.

Orbs, happy birthday to your Mom. I thought of her yesterday as I was making potato salad! I love it that she is having this 'Polish Wedding'type birthday party!

Huck, if I were in town, I'd join you, but alas, I am down here in Florida til the end of July! Maybe later, as my g-niece would say!

Lets see, I can grab the 4:30 out of OKC, get into Chicago at 7:30, catch the Fred Flinstone at 8:40 and be in Milwaukee by 9:30. I think it might be too late.
Sorry Huck. If I were there, I'd join you.

Well, I am obviously a long way off, but I do like the spontaneous get together. That's how I operate most of the time. It always amazes me how many people think planning a dinner out is logistically equivalent to the Moon landing. I know which of my friends are up for that and which I shouldn't bother...I see spontaneous people a lot more.

Sorry didnt make it out. Every car was booked unless I wanted to take my fathers pick-up but that doesnt really work to bring 2 little girls in. Hope you had a good meal..

Why not it would have just been us. Wasn't a good night there for sure. They had four or five tour buses full of kids. Must have been ghetto kids too as their manners were atrocious. I actually got mad and said EXCUSE ME! Only after the fifth kid cut in front of me at the drink island. This was after I had been reached over for plates, soup, and salad. I told the one kid that was patient and showed good upbringing, "Thank you for being courteous. When I raised my voice, staff came over and asked if there was a prob. I am not one to cause problems that I can handle myself and told her no.

Anyhow, food was okay, and I left very full. Golden corral might be better, but OCB is five blocks away. I figure Anon can chose GC when he feels like a spur of the moment get together.

Sorry you had to deal with rude kids. You have to know mostly it isn't their fault, just never led in the right direction. It is a true shame, but irritating and rude, none the less.

Someone told me OCB has improved their menu. Haven't been there in awhile. No matter how hard I try not to, I always overeat at those joints.

Someone must have wished me luck.... wouldn't ya know, I WON the doorprize! :)
