How is Doyle responsible?

House and Senate are hashing out a budget. His is th signature that will implement it, but he hasn't signed anything, and the budget isn't even through legislation. So I'm scratching my head on how he is responsible at this time. Could one of the folks holding his heels to the flame explain the reasoning to me? Is it kill the messenger time?

Doyle is a weenie. Here’s April’s list, and you wonder why people are upset

He totally mess up the state, now he is trying to tax his way out of a problem!

There WAS $20 million dollars in a phone account which was suppose to be returned to the public...the weenie took the money out and now wants to tax every phone (land lines and cell phones) $0.75 per month. Yes, even the thought of makes people mad!

I should have added, the $0.75 tax is going back into the account where he took the $20 mil out...

These taxes, he said I want these taxes, and like a king implemented them? What about legislature? I still don't quite get it. The taxes are, or are not in place? Does anyone have it on record that he specifically asked for and got these taxes, or are they still being worked on in the legislature? Last I heard he hasn't signed anything. Last I heard, he isn't part of the house or senate. I'm really confused on how he is being vilified and hasn't signed squat. Or has he and I missed it?

Is it that he is the whipping boy for the actions of all? Tommy T took the funds that were added to the motorcycle licensing for off road use and squandered them. the funds are gone and the extra tax that was for these funds is still being assessed.

Same old story, same old song and dance my friend.

Huck, do you honestly believe that any politician works "for the people"?

They're all pigs. As soon as they're elected, they start playing the game. You can't play the game and say that you're against the game or will stop the game or are anti-game. As soon as you sell your soul to the lobbyists and special interest groups, it's over. It doesn't matter what you say or what the people say, the special interests win. They always win the game. ALWAYS, because money is more important than human life. Money always has been more important than human life, always will be. The biggest lie is the one they teach you in childhood: that human life is worth more than money. Those of us who believe that and continue to live our lives on that principle are just pawns to the pigs, just worker bees to be drained of money-honey.

Party on!

It is a given. The first thing you do when elected, buying a car, getting a job...is What's in it for me. Don't lie..we all do it. He is the governor and is totally aware what is going on. Do you think anyone has the guts to go behind his back? My problem is he is sticking it to the regular folks every day while he 'may' get the over 250,000 people at tax time. But how do you say the rich have to pay and the regular folks do not. That isn't right either. He has no idea of how broke most of us are.

And this insurance scheme he has going has got to be the funniest/stupid thing he could do. They should advertise this in all the national papers and give everyone a laugh.

Orbs, I have a feeling you would like the glib summary of the Second Law of Thermodynamics as applied to politics.

You can't win, you can't break even, you can't even quit the game.

Back to Huck's question, people who have trouble analyzing complex systems need a single point of blame to direct their anger whether it be Doyle, Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc. Even though presidents and governors do not write legislation, they do have a good deal of influence over it and should be held accountable in proportion to their influence.

Of course, this type of thinking requires, um thinking (that sentence sort of got away from me).

Boppster, you are exactly right, Doyle is at the helm and he must be held responsible. Additionally, he makes the final decisions and his decisions need to be what is good for the people.

When it comes to raising taxes, I am not sure what part of NO Doyle doesn’t understand...The ‘N’ or the ‘O’.
