Marijuana

I figured if we're going to have a blog entitled "Tequila," then we need this one, too.

Actually, this is about Oakland, California, which just passed a new tax on medical marijuana. You can read the AP news story here: Oakland voters pass pot tax to boost city coffers. The measure passed by an 80% margin and is expected to raise nearly $300,000 in its first year.

Good for them. It is about time that common sense starts to prevail in the debate over marijuana.

Party on, potheads!

EDIT: Or you can watch the AP news story here:

I checked the AP videos for this story earlier, and there was nothing.

Oh God I love Pot. It is great medicine. I've always wondered where old bongs went to die. There must be like this huge graveyard of bongs. Glass ones, plastic ones, metal ones, and fine bone china ones named Ursula Von Bong. Maybe there's a section for old pipes too.

There are probably attics full of that stuff. People quit and have no idea what to do with their old junk. When was the last time anyone ever rolled a joint? Now there's a lost art.

Years ago I was at the old Sentry. I was waiting in line with three ZigZag packs. A self righteous black guy behind me stuck his nose in and in a disapproving tone asked what I was going to do with them? I looked him right in the eye and told him, "I'm paraplegic battling cancer, I'm going to go home, roll a big fat bomb and smoke the fuck out of it." The cashier gave me a thumbs up.

Anyhow, pot is really bad and everyone that even thinks about getting high should be slapped in irons and forced to hard labor. They should get years in prison, and lose all of their property. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I agree. They should also be force fed alcohol until they convert to the accepted form of inebriation. Potheads claim they are born that way, but I don't buy it.

I was't born that way. It took many years of practice to become a proper stoner. Now that i'm in my 50's i enjoy it more than ever.
