Why is Porky Pig an America-Hating Atheist?

Good bit of history here for those that care to find the answer.

Well heck, everyone knows the answer, don't they? I always enjoy reading indignant bloggers arguing that the Pledge was written with under god in it and only the atheistic commies at the ACLU would want to change this old American institution.

All praise McCarthy

Porky was not an American hating atheist. I know the answer too. I do remember that even as a kid reciting it in school that phrase gave me pause.

Why do you think they call him a pig? Hell is filled with the aroma of frying bacon. Porky is undoubtedly affiliated with the Antichrist Obama. Turning a cartoon character against God just shows how low the anti-American socialist fascist communists will go in their efforts to stamp out freedom!

You are hot today, orbs. Perhaps you should have gone to the dragon boat races and looked at a few shiny things for distraction? ;>

Those mofos take the neighborhood hostage once a year, congesting the streets, grabbing all the parking, destroying a peaceful summer weekend with blasting bullhorns, and leaving behind a boatload of trash blowing around the hood. Thank you, thank you, thank you for another one of your parties held in our neighborhood. We enjoy having you crap on our streets.

W00t! Party on! When the going gets tough, the tough get to PARTY!!!

In all seriousness, though, I DO want to thank the Dragon Boats for all the jobs they brought to our neighborhood, the crimes they solved and/or suppressed, and the educational opportunities that they provided.

Ubba-dee, ubba-dee, ubba-dee, that's all folks!

You would be surprised how few know that, Huck (although I figured I would have better luck here than most places).

I was merely intending a little light satire of a certain political faction...then orbs takes it to the next level...well done!

Because the phrase "Under God" wasn't added until 1954. This cartoon predates that being produced in the 40's.

Well now I learned something. I thought it was 1958.

Porky was/is a true American.

As for atheist or non-atheist, we never talked about it so I don't know.

You know what else is weird about this clip? Porky is wearing pants.
