I think I qualify. If I immediately noticed Jouranl spelled incorrectly... I, too, can be an online editor!!! ;>

Whatever they do, they shouldn't hire someone from the community who is creative and cares about Racine. Get another out-of-town stuffed shirt with a degree to bark at visitors to the site.

Yeow, kk, you got me. I corrected it, but the blog's url is now permanently marred by a typo. This would never have happened if BO'B were here.

If I told them I was kkdither, do you think I could get an interview???? {{wink, wink}}

Funny, I briefly flirted with the idea of applying, too. But I don't have the credentials. They want a cardboard cutout in the Lee tradition, and I'm a real live human being.

In the early 90's, the Journal Times advertised for a local person to be a "curmudgeon" columnist for the paper. Really. I applied for the job, but didn't get it. Apparently, no one did. Definition of curmudgeon: "A crusty irascible cantankerous old person full of stubborn ideas." Now, if you had to name Racine's most notable curmudgeon, who would it be?

I swear, they take careful aim, slowly squeeze the trigger, and then, BANG - they shoot themselves in the foot again.

Btw, I take great pride in knowing that the JT Irregulars have outlasted those who chased us off of the Journal Times' site. Suck snot, BO'B.

And, again, whatever you do Journal Times, DON'T hire locally for "our" newspaper. Heaven forbid that you actually become relevant to the community that you allegedly "serve."

Didn't they have a guy named Emmett Dose who did a column in their senior section? I thought the title curmudgeon would have been appropriate for his writing flair or style.... :)

I vaguely remember him. I think he still pops up occasionally.

Do you remember The Shoreline Leader, Racine's weekly newspaper, headquartered, I believe, where that EconoPrint is on State near Main (if that's still there)? Apparently, the Library of Congress thinks they're still in business.
