I miss Swedish Cook! Oops, Swedish Chef!

What you having for Thanksgiving Dessert??? I'm making a cranberry swirl cheesecake and pecan pie (peeCAN). Had to learn the southern pronunciation of that word.

Anyway, while I was planning dinner, I thought back to all the times Swedish would post those wonderful recipes....what's on your menu. Here's mine:

Turkey (duh) stuffed with a fruited stuffing of cranberry, apricots, pecans, stuffing cubes, celery, onion and apples.

Frozen Cranberry Salad

Mashed Potatoes and Gravy (another duh)

Green Bean Casserole

Broccoli Casserole

Hot Rolls

Cranberry Sauce

and whatever else I think of.....

Have a blessed holiday and remember to give thanks for your blessings.

I miss Swedish Chef too. She was very nice. She came to the first gathering, before we became "irregular."

I have the same duhs.
*Turkey
*Dressing (mine has: apple, celery, onion, 1 lb. ground turkey and the real turkey parts--yep--ick, more fresh bread all done through a hand grinder and then added to the stuffing cubes)
*Mashed potatoes and gravy
*Candied sweet potatoes
*Some sort of veggie... maybe corn?
*Dinner Rolls
*Fruit salad
*Cranberries
*And PIE, lots of PIE!
*There will be a beverage or two...

My plan is to cook, eat, then unsnap the pants and hit the couch. Family gets the cleanup! ;> Ya right!

Yep, I have sweet potatoes too...I think I'll just bake mine and serve them with cinnamon/honey butter. Leftover sweet potatoes??? I'll make sweet potatoe pie! Like we'll need that!!!!

Turkey deep fried
Ham deep fried
Mashed tatoes
A veggie
Fresh baked dinner rolls
Cranberry relish
Pumpkin cheese cake

We'll have enough leftovers for a month.

Beejay: It's REALLY funny you ask that question. I was just accepting Drew's request from Facebook and "Swedish Cook" came to mind. I noticed the woman from Sweeden on the friends list's of a few of us and the "Chef" came to mind. I have SEVERAL of her recipe's in my favorites, and ALWAY'S enjoyed her blogging. I GUESS that's a result of leaving the place we all started? We allowed a FEW "Bad Egg's" determine our future.

It should be "Swedish Chef"

I miss the Swedish Chef also; she always had something tasty to post.

I had turkey day yesterday. I made a pork roast in the crock-pot, had potato chips with a couple bottles of beer and a dark chocolate candy bar for desert

Yes, the name was Swedish Chef...duh...all this cooking is making me crazier than I was!

SER, that sounded pretty darn good.

Maybe she'll reappear one of these days...in the meantime, I'll punt!

Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed Taters
Gravy
Sweet Potatoes ( NO marshmallows!)
Couple different veggies
Apple waldorf salad
cranberry sauce (jellied)

Trying a new cranberry relish jello mold this year.. hope it's good..

Dinner rolls

Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie

Raw veggies and dip for appetizers.

Husband does the turkey on the grill so it keeps the kitchen open for all the other cooking. And it's deeeeeeeeeelish!

well I sent her a message on Myspace but I'm doubtful she will see it. She hasnt logged in since Feb. sometime.. we'll see..

We will celebrate our Thanksgiving on Sat. seeming they dont they have Thanksgiving here. I do my own.. it's not very big but it's always been a favorite of mine and it helps me through the missing home at the holidays blues..

My Thanksgiving looks a lot like KKs although I do mashed sweet potatoes and my father-in-law makes the dressing for the Turkey.

Okay, maybe I should make something instead of that broccoli/corn casserole...any suggestions.

I have a tendency to do an overload on food......we have sweet potatoes, so squash is out.

I forgot to add the must have sweet and sour red cabbage. It is a tradition thing. Shopping after work tonight. It will be a zoo out there.

This will be the first time doing it at my place even though I've been the one cooking it for the past 10 years or so. I have a teeny oven. Will be interesting where all this food will go and where all these people will sit.

Good luck, why not? Hope you can bring the chef back.
