Harry Nilsson - "Jump Into The Fire"

I have no idea why, but this song suddenly jumped into my head a few moments ago. I wasn't listening to music. Hmm. Anyway, I always liked the song, and I always liked Harry Nilsson.

Thank you, Harry.

Never heard of Harry Nilsson.

Although the music sounds like you could sit down with a big blunt and kick back to it.

SER: His music hits ALL levels. It ranges from "Jump into the fire" at the kind of wild side to "Somewhere over the rainbow" at the SOFT side. You have heard him, you just didn't know it. He sang songs in the movie "Midnight Cowboy" "Everybody's Talkin" was the BIG one. He also sang several songs in "When Harry met Sally" He died WAYYYYYY too young. You may want to listen to one of his "Greatest Hit's" collections sometime. He was an amazing artist.

SORRY, It was "YOU'VE GOT MAIL" Not "When Harry met Sally" that was Randy Newman

I became aware of Nilsson when John Lennon had his "lost weekend" in New York after temporarily breaking up with Yoko Ono. Lennon met Nilsson and they worked together on a number of projects, but mostly on getting drunk and raising hell.

"Everybody's Talkin'" is a great song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AzEY6ZqkuE

I just found "Midnight Cowboy" yesterday on DVD. It was 6 bucks at WalMart, I couldn't pass it up. They had a whole slew of OLD movies for 6 bucks. Another favorite of mine from him is "I guess the Lord must be in New York City"
