"Board rejects 'whiteman' ballot language from Milwaukee candidate"

"Madison — State elections officials narrowly rejected a Milwaukee Assembly candidate's attempt to run with the slogan 'NOT the "whiteman's bitch" ' under her name on the ballot.

"Ieshuh Griffin, a Milwaukee independent running to replace retiring Rep. Annette 'Polly' Williams (D-Milwaukee), said in response she would sue the Government Accountability Board for infringing on her freedom of speech.

" 'I'm not making a derogatory statement toward an ethnic group. I'm stating what I'm not,' Griffin told board members. 'It's my constitutional right to freedom of speech.'

"Unlike candidates from the established Democratic and Republican parties, independents are allowed a five-word statement of purpose on the ballot to explain to voters what their candidacy is about."

LOL. They shoulda let her keep the slogan on the ballot. Now I'm trying to think up good slogans (5 words or less) for independent candidates:

"NOT a Career Politician"
"NOT For Sale"
"NOT the Same Old Sh*t"
"NOT Becker or Dickert"

You got any?

Not a Liar?
Not yo mamma?

I think they should have let her keep the slogan. It shows how unstable and unprofessional she is if she thinks this verbiage is appropriate for a representative of the people.

I just saw her on the news. She is running against three other African-American individuals.

One of her opponents is Elizabeth Coggs. That name rings a bell for some type of criminal accusations against her. I can't fully remember what it was... Wasn't she accused of misappropriation of funds for a personal vacation? It was supposed to be a convention, but she didn't attend any of the conferences. And/or wasn't she and her cohorts also accused of being involved in those cars that were vandalized at some political event? I could certainly be mistaken due to faulty recollection.

Milwaukee did have McGee running for office from jail. I guess anything goes in politics.

I thought this sounded like a fun game, but every one I come up with is too snarky and just doesn't ring true.

Yeah, my thoughts were similar to kk. If this woman wanted to make that big of a fool of herself, maybe they should let her.

This whole bias thing has gotten out of hand. The whole world is going nuts. I think I've said that before.

Nothing like your 8 year old calling someone a bitch...why because they heard it from their parents, read it in the paper, and know how to spell it so they can google it. Yes 8 year olds google (the good words that people whisper).

Sassa, eight year olds who use Google are technically breaking the Terms of Service. From Google's Terms of Service

"2.3 You may not use the Services and may not accept the Terms if (a) you are not of legal age to form a binding contract with Google..."

Most places, you need to be 18 to enter into a binding contract so tell them to get off our internet!
