Scenes from Shawano

This summer, I spent some time traveling Up North visiting family and friends. During this five hour drive is a pit stop in Shawano. Shawano is a city about 37 miles northwest of Green Bay. It has a population of 8,300. It's not a big city by any means, but it retains that small town feel I enjoy and love.

BTW Mr. Biggie D-It's pronounced Sha-No, not Sha Wano :P

Those are nice pics, drew.

And now I, too, know how to pronounce Shawano.

I think you meant to say 37 miles northWEST of Green Bay. Go noreast and you would be near Sturgeon Bay.

Nice pics by the way. Shawano was a potty stop for the kids on the way back from Conover when they were young.

Thanks Orbs! With all this traveling, I'm starting to fall in love with the Wisconsin scenery all over again.

Thanks for the catch logjam! How could I have missed that? I just fixed it. I've been stopping in Shawano for more than 40 years!

Thanks for the note to Biggie D! LOL...I will tell him to take a stop here!!!!

He is still telling everyone about Shawano (and teasingly saying it ShaWano)...he loved the flea market...and made some great buys there.

Thanks for the pix...we'll be back!

LJ, I was born in that area and had a great time up there this summer...so nice to go back down memory lane.....

Really good pics, Drew!
Is that statue bigger than the orange moose in Black River Falls?

Beejay-the flea market is awesome! The last I was there, I walked out of the place with bags full of vintage LP's and tapes.

DA-No, the statue was human sized.
