Four for Fridays

Hello everyone! Another Friday is here! How about that? Seems like they are coming quicker these days. This week's questions are about Valentine's Day.

1) Do you think of Valentine's Day as a "Hallmark" holiday?

2) What place would a good place to take your special someone out to dinner?

3) Any special Valentine memories?

4) Any special Valentine plans?

Enjoy your weekend!

1. I think Hallmark and their ilk capitalize on the holiday which cheapens it. What is wrong with setting aside one day a year to tell someone how much you care? It isn't necessary to go to Kay's and purchase the newest, ugliest design of diamonds.
2. My favorite restaurant is still the Ale House in Milwaukee. Casual, good food and great micro beers.
3. No
4. No

1. Sort of....but it is also a chance just to spend some quality time with your partner...you make it what you want. Choices, folks.
2. Well, I love Donato's, Visani's or perhaps, just a quite candelight dinner for two at home....in fact, the last one would be my choice.
3. One year way back when, my husband took me to 'Valentine's.'
4. We'll be on the road...think we'll have a dinner at some place besides McD's!

1) As soon as the Christmas displays go down in the stores, the Valentines displays go up, so that's why I think of it as a Hallmark holiday. However, I agree that the day is what you make it, so if you want to spend special time with that special someone, why not?

2) I dunno, I hardly eat out anymore. Kewpee's?

3) What I remember is in grade school everyone got valentines for everyone else in the class. There was this mass exchange of cards on that day, and that was it.

4) I'm gonna find true love on this Valentine's Day, or at least a cheap hooker.

4. Send a card to a friend and hope it cheers her up. No ulterior intentions though.

1) I'm agreeing with kk on this...

2) I'm thinking of the Corner House. Applebee's may be good. Certainly not the Hob Nob in Kenosha. A buddy of mine from work spent over $200 on a date there and that didn't include drinks.

3) Nothing that I should be sharing...:P

4) Probably taking my girlfriend out to dinner.

Oh my.. not to put anything out there.. but I used to clean at the Hob Nob.. just personally after seeing the kitchens I wouldn't eat there either..

I suspect that's true of most restaurant kitchens. Never ask what's in sausage and never peek at the kitchen of your favorite restaurant.
