Safe Haven law

I never knew this, now I feel sorry for the girl who put her baby in the dumpster when she could have been cover under this law. Now she is in trouble with the law.

Sad, sad, sad......

SER - isn't she like 28 years old? My God, there are so many people who want babies who would have gladly taken hers.

That woman in Racine, she was in denial about her pregnancy or something. She seems to have been surprised by the baby's arrival.

Part of the problem is lack of knowledge about these laws. They are not exactly publicized, especially to people who need to know about them the most.

I cry every time I read something about that case.. truly upsetting

I feel that women who give up their babies like this do not want ANYONE to know they were /are/was pregnant. Like going to 'Auntie's house in another state'. They could be also wise enough to know they can afford it. I'll bet 80% are unplanned (moment of passion). What gets me mad are the MEN who have the nerve to tell women what they should do with the pregnancy. These old men in congress talking about abortions....give me a break!

I knew about this law. I thought it was common knowledge. While I don't believe abortion is the answer to someone's problems, I agree with Sassa, that the decision is different for everyone and it should be made with tons of information, more than a ton of thought and in the end... only between a woman, her doctor and her ?(God, whatever that means)

The Safe Haven law should be heavily publicized.
