Firefox 4 is Now Available

You can download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

Has anyone installed it yet?  Firefox is my main browser.  I've downloaded version 4, but haven't installed it yet. I hope to do so later today. Once I have, I'll let you know how it went.

Firefox is my default browser, too. I usually do an upgrade when they become available. Please do let us know how it goes and what your thoughts are. Hopefully, it will go without a hitch!

I've had it for sometime. Took me some getting used to but have no complaints other than my bank had to be accessed thru explorer. Firefox is what the computer guys recommended and so far so goo,

My son downloaded it and said I should use it. I'm not good with change so I continue to use Internet Explorer. This past month IE was on the fritz so I had Foxfire to use...thank god! I also have google chrome but have never used it.

After one day, I like Firefox 4 very much. It's much quicker than 3.6, and the new tabs-on-top layout is a step forward, nice and roomy. I did lose the use of a few Firefox add-ons, but they may get upgraded, and my most important add-ons already have been.

Thanks for the input. I haven't upgraded yet - I don't like change, either - but the speed improvement has me intrigued. That's why I chose Firefox in the first place, but it seems to have gotten slower and slower with the years. Mark's comment verifies Firefox's claim, so I'll go with it. Also, when I first switched to Firefox I had to use Explorer on some "official" sites, too, until they caught up. I can live with that.

I'll post again after the upgrade (if my computer is still functional).

I just did it and it was clean and painless. That was the fastest upgrade I've experienced. I think it took longer to download than it did to install. The refresh and home buttons are on the right hand side now - that's about all I need to know for now. Looks nice.

After the upgrade, I rebooted the computer. Launching Firefox seemed to take just as long as usual, but I have an old machine. I don't know that it is any quicker online yet. The only add-ons that weren't compatible were the Norton toolbar (I don't use/enable it) and some Microsoft network assistant something or the other (don't want to get too technical). Everything seems to be operating fine. At this point, I recommend it.

Uh-oh, the media player for one of my favorite classical stations doesn't work in Firefox 4, but does in Explorer. I know they'll catch up with this stuff, like the bank thing Cyndi mentioned, but it may take awhile.
