The Beatles - "You Know My Name"

I am re-posting this simply as a music video. Mary liked it but didn't get to see the whole thing.

From the video description:

"The longest version of 'You Know My Name' I found, coupled with more or less rare footage from the Beatles. Recorded while 'Sgt. Pepper', released in 1970. After McCartney, Evans and Lennon added some extra vocals in 1969, Lennon planed to release (with '...Mary Jane') it as a Plastic Ono single (heavily edited by himself), but the other Beatles prevented it. Even on Anthology there are some parts of the song missing."

I must be polite, because I know just how much Mary loves the Beatles. I too enjoyed the Beatles, but kind of lost interest In the what I call drug induced era of music. Kinda like Jimmie Hendrix. I thought he was horrible. Too much noise. Anyhow they were all so talented as individuals, and find Paul still the best of the four. Why did people like Janis Joplin?

Thanks Orbs!!!!

To be sure I wasn't a big fan of Jimmie or Janis. Have Janis' Pearl album though. Some good songs on it.

I thought I heard this song before...Thinking I had pretty much the entire Beatles collection, I literary had to search my collection for this tune and eureka! I found it on my Anthology 2 disc. Good tune! haven't heard it in awhile.

The song was originally released on the B-side of the "Let it Be" single.

Toad-everybody has different musical tastes and I respect that. Personally, I think of Jimi Hendrix is a some sort of a guitar god. He pioneered a path to what guitar players today strive to be.

As for Janis Joplin, she just slays me with her raspy, bluesy one of a kind vocals especially on her cover of Me & Bobby McGee.

Amazing. I've been thinking about the line, "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose," over and over this week.

I loved Jimi and Janis and The Beatles. I don't know if I can even think of a band from my youth that I didn't like.
