Four for Fridays

Hello everyone! Welcome back! Well, I'm off from work for a short little vacation. So here I am, writing my post, then it's back to bed for me.... Here are some questions for you...

1) Do you think Valentine's Day is more a "Hallmark" holiday or a real day to celebrate your love for another?

2) What is your idea of a perfect Valentine's gift?

3) How many of the U.S. Presidents have you memorized?

4) Do you like trivia-like games?

Enjoy your weekend!

1. Of course I do....and I celebrate it as well.

2. Time...I just want to spend the time with my Valentine. I don't need trinkets or flowers.

3. I think I can name most of them, but probably not in order of their service.

4. Sometimes.

You have a great little vacation.

2nd...oh wait that is on a different post.

1. We don't need no stinkin Valentine's Day.
2. flowers and candy...lol and don't forget the card with all the "deep withins"
3. Let's put it this way...If this was a category on Jeopardy, I would not do to well.
4. Can you say "Moups" KK will get this one.

Drew, you do a great job with 4 for Fridays, give yourself a pat on the back or next time I see you, I will.

1. Hallmark.. have never celebrated it.. but my husband and I have our became a couple anniversary 2 weeks later..

2. I guess it would be my husband making the supper AND clean up the mess after..

3. Hmm.. I know quite a few, no way in order.. my husband has been watching a lot of documentaries about the presidents for his English and History classes.

4. Depends on how much I feel like feeling dumb.. some days it's funny other days humiliating and disturbing.

1. He's my Valentine all year so I don't need a special day to celebrate.

2. Chocolate!!!!!!

3. I think I can start at Harding and end up with Obama but I've have problems with any others. There was a President named Harding wasn't there?

4. I LOVE TRIVIA.

Here is a trivia question. What is the longest running tv show on American television?

1) For me a combination of the two.

2) I don't need all the gifts all I need is to be with Drew!

3) I plead the fifth on this one!

4) Some yes!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mary I think it is either MASH or I Love Lucy!

1. Plead single

2. Plead single

3. Most of them. I think I can do everyone from Grover Cleveland on in order. I have trouble with the order in the 1800s and would probably forget one or two (just like trying to name the seven dwarves...it's hard to get them all!)

4. Were Corn Flakes invented as an anti-masturbatory drug?

OKIE said...

Why Not - here's a hint - What IS the longest showm, not was.

Hale - what????

jedwis said...

Mary, Is it the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" with audience participation?

OKIE said...

Jed - no. Nice guess though.

1. It's really stupid. You either LOVE/LIKE the person all year long, or you don't.

2. It's just another day.

3. I know most of the Presidents, but the order Is not known, other than the ones shortly before, and after I was born, plus a few others 1st,16th.

4. YES

Mary, It's the stupid cartoon type show with the really Irregular family?

Why Not? said...

I would guess Saturday Night Live

1) Hallmark holiday to make money, not love.

2) A million dollars.

3) 4 or 5.

4) No.

5) Longest running TV show? Today show? Tonight show?

OKIE said...

Okay, I'm going to tell since this is Drew's blog.

The Answer is: Meet the Press

Started in the 40's and is still on today.

Mary, the answer to my question is yes. Dr. Kellog was part of a movement that believed semen contained "life fluids" and desire to masturbate could be controlled by diet. Hence, he invented Corn Flakes in order to keep men from spilling their precious fluids.

He had a friend with similar beliefs named Dr. Samuel Graham (really!)

Thanks Hale.

Wow. Really?

jedwis said...

Was there even TV in the 40's, Mary ? I'm going to have to research this Kellogg thing... I went to College in K-Zoo, close to Battle Creek, you'd think at some point in time during the years, at all of the fundraising church events I attended. I would have heard something about that, given the nature of the topic and all?
Don't worry Mary, Drew likes it when his 4 for Friday questions get de-railed at some point in time. lol

1) Personally, I don't see the big issue of setting aside a day for your loved one. Yet, the commercialism of the hearts, candy and the balloons gets a little annoying.

2) Spending the day alone with, well, you know who is more than enough for me. Though Tender Heart did surprise with the new Van Halen CD tied to a balloon. Now, I have to find a way to get even with her...:P

3) I'm lucky enough to memorize the presidents in order from Ike till today. Beyond that, forget it...

4) Yes, I do...

Mary, my first thought was 60 Minutes.

hale-bopp said...

I'll start you off with psych central, jed.

I hate to get involved In this conversation from Hale, but Yahoo just had a story on the myths associated with masturbation. I laughed quite a lot. All the things I heard when I was young turned out to be FALSE.

SER said...

1) "Hallmark

2) gift? cook dinner for her,,,,

3) U.S. Presidents you memorized?
lucky if i can name 6

4) Do you like trivia-like games?
some times have to be in the mood to play them.

OrbsCorbs said...

I was never big on Corn Flakes, so that explains a lot.

kkdither said...

Can I still play?

1. Hallmark (commercialism) really over does it.
2. Being surprised.
3. I think I'd do okay. If it had to be in order, I'd do much worse.
4. Like trivia when I know the answer, dislike when it makes me feel stuuupid.

6. Kellogg and graham, seriously? And we fed this propaganda food to our young babes? lololol
