Toilets are very important, and Kohler makes very nice ones that flush well. I have installed two of them for my elderly parents - they feature the handicap height bowls that are elongated and dual flush. It makes for a much more pleasant experience for them.

When you buy a toilet, always check the flush power rating. Slumlord specials never work right, clog easily and often take 2or more flushes. There is no money savings there.

In Germany, many rest stops on the Autobahn did not have toilets. You walked into the woods and did your business. Watch where you walk.

In Italy I stopped at a rest stop that featured a "bomb hole" - a hole in the floor over which you squatted.

Always carry TP with you in Europe.

For a time I lived with a family in Kenosha that was poor and had 5 children. TP was quick to run out and very valuable. I bought my own supply and always kept it with me. Often you would find the newspaper in the toilet, as it was used for those purposes. TP gets expensive with a large family. It is a perfect use for the JT.

Most toilets are ceramic- which, when shattered, becomes very sharp. DO NOT STAND ON A TOILET - especially if you are large. It can shatter. Yes, thank you, Mr. Crapper. Because of my stomach problems, I am very familiar with toilets. That's by necessity, not choice. This kid, though, has quite the fixation.

I once flushed one of my toy cars down the toilet when I was a kid. That required a visit from the plumber. However, I claim credit for inventing the modern car wash.

I know, I know, but sometimes it's easier to go along with the lie rather than the truth. Certainly, we understand that in Racine. And what are you going to call the toilet, the giblin?

Then you'd have to say that lying John is doing a gibby job.

I won't be able to make it into Racine tonight - so no. I do hope they get a big turnout, but weather is always a factor.

Here is Mt. Pleasant I am the only one (usually) at Committe meetings, and at Village Board meetings there will be only 5 or 6people.

If I stay in the area, I will run for Mt. Pleasant Board, but there is the problem of jobs and employment in this area. It's bad most everywhere - but this area is the worst - gas is suppoused to spike up in the Spring over $4.00 again, and then Racine really goes into the toilet! Flush that!

I may be at the Courthouse tomorrow. Weather dependent. The Police did say I could peacefully protest as long as I remained on the sidewalk, kept moving, and did not obstruct people.

John has a date there at 11:00a.m.

I have two standing commitments for every Tuesday evening. That's why I don't make council meetings.

I checked with the police a long time ago. Yeah, you can do what you want as long as you don't mess with anyone and keep moving. If it's going to be a big demonstration, they'd like a heads up, but there's no law. Maybe I'll see you at the courthouse. I hope the judge has good news for citizens, but I think not. Those in power generally side with those in power.

Incidentally, I read an interesting item in Maack's blog the other day. It's an old entry, referring to when Ald Fair was arrested: "If Fair was an effective alderman, maybe, but he is not. He is one of 15 aldermen and quite frankly, he is marginalized on the council because he hasn't learned how to build coalitions. He is no threat to the Mayor, to Alderman Helding or to the powers to be."

See, it has nothing to do with representing your constituents or what's right for Racine - it's "coalition building," i.e., glad handing and back slapping of the good ol' boys. Crony up or forget it. What pigs. Just like high school. Maack calls it "The Good Life," sucking up to those in power and ignoring the people who elected you. Utter swine.
