Hey Orbs - If you're stuck in the City and want to lower your rent, 710 8th. St. is for sale - Only $9,999 - and taxes are current. It had some minor fire damage - but may be a bargain for you.

With $1,000 down, and a 30 year mortgage estimated payments are $48.31

Check out the LOW, LOW prices on homes in Racine - especially the Inner City.

OMG - I am so excited. Guess what popped up in the garden - Asparagus. I can't wait for more to come in.

Okay, I'm better now.

I am surprised the National Association of Salt Mine Workers had not protested the phrase "back to the salt mines" and being demeaning to them and the vital work they do to support this nation's economy.

Mary, Asparagus has been on my mind for day's. I saw It roasted online the other day, and darn near cried. I had a little (2 lbs.) about a month ago. Love the stuff. The toothless will be walking up and down the roads real soon, looking for It.

There are no salt mines in Racine, but we're going to have fish mines.

"The first step will be the technology, Dickert said, noting that Wisconsin, as well as Purdue University in Indiana, already have people who can get to work on the science.

“Fish farms have problems with disease. We will need to find a process or technology that does not allow for diseases,” he said. “Then it’s getting the investors involved. Right now we are moving very efficiently.”

If everything works out it will mean more jobs and opportunities for Racine, Dickert said.

“It may not bring 3,000 jobs, but if we can create a 1,000 jobs or a couple hundred jobs, and create a healthy food source for the city it is worth it,” he said."

IF we fill the salt mine with Racine water we could mine salt water fish! That would be cool - and would work out great. Just don't let anyone sneak some Sharks in there - and we'll be ok.

Just how much will this fish mining operation cost the remaining working people of Racine through taxation? Sounds a little like the art districts we were going to use to attract commerce. On the surface, it all sounds great... when it comes to pay for it, that will be another story.

I have a feeling the setup and operational costs will outrageously surpass any benefit, especially since it is only speculation that it would generate a couple hundred to a thousand jobs in the area.

We don't need fish farms because fish from southern farms have escaped and are already coming up the Mississippi River to us: all the Asian carp you can eat. Yum-yum.

Thank God, Rahm gave up his job at the White House. Sounds like he has completely gone "Off his rocker" FISH FARMS? What the hell, THAT'S what the LAKE Is. We have Fish Hatchery's all over the State to maintain the fish In the Lakes of WI. Remember PARIS, and the "We want Wisconsin water issue?" LEASE the land to Rahm E. and the City of Chicago, and take a cut of the profits. BTW, don't take out bids either for the land.
