Memorial Day

Thank you to all past, present, and future military in all branches.
Thank you to the families of all military, and the sacrifices you've
had to make while they have served.
Thank you doesn't seem anywhere near enough to say.

My heartfelt thanks for the sacrifices our service personnel give to protect and serve.

When you hear of the lack of return or extended delay of services provided to those who have served (of things promised when they signed on: healthcare, pension payments, educational reimbursements, etc) it just infuriates me.

Unfortunately, you can say the same for police, EMT's, educators, etc. Everyone has a misconception lately that everyone who works in the public sector is living high on the hog. There may be some specific people who are bilking or abusing the system, but it isn't necessarily the truth for many, or probably most.

Interesting.

Think "Serving" is bad? I disagree. Combat is bad - and most never experience that.

We always hear the complaints - but I had the time of my life in the USAF. There were more than enough activities and opportunities available on Base!

Since I served 6 years - and was Rif'ed (reduction in force - forced out) how long should I receive benefits for? It's one thing to need medical care for life because of a combat related injury - it's another thing for those like me who didn't experience that.

All bases were different - but I NEVER wanted for anything. When I was sent overseas (Germany and Italy) I had the time of my life. Of course, that was because I went out amongst the locals and explored. In Germany the most miserable people were the married people. Their Wives racked up phone bills for Hundreds TO Thousands of $$$ and complained incessantly. "It's not like America!" It was a big deal to go to Bitburg because there was a McDonalds!!

LOL. Meanwhile I enjoyed local Brats, Beer and French Fries, mit Mayo! Cordon Bleu, vegetables w/Bernaise (sp) Sauce and Weizenbier.

What are humans entitled to? At whose expense?

Who pays and for how long?

Where do the resources come from?

What is your carbon footprint - and when it impinges on another s - whose takes precedence?

Educators? What have you produced? Where is the FRUIT?

Has that FRUIT increased OR decreased?

IF the fruit from "education" doesn't increase - who should the increase be taken from?

My - My - The entitlement mentality runs strong.

TSE, On this Memorial Day, I am ashamed of YOU. If YOU served, and wish to opt OUT of any benefits, GREAT. On the other hand If a person serves this country, and If promised certain things for doing so, I say they EARNED It. I don't care If they served DURING war, or peace time. THEY EARNED IT. FOREVER. A person takes a genuine RISK when they join the armed forces, and as such should forever be honored. YOU included. Your comments darn near made me cry, for I am NOT a veteran, and am FOREVER Indebted to those that served, and DIED for me.

Ah yes.

The MAGICAL THINKING of those who live in an INFINITE Universe, with INFINITE resources.

It's all FREE! Take what you want!

We disagree to the Nth degree and I suspect we could argue forever. The one thing that bothers me is that you feel entitled to blast a differing opinion every freaking time it is expressed, and you to it in a nasty way. Just because you believe it, doesn't necessarily make it so.

Read up and find out some of the injustices some of our veterans who HAVE served in active combat face when they get home. Find out some of the broken promises the widows have encountered, the loss of homes due to delayed payments and red tape, or clerical errors. I'm so glad things worked out for you.

I appreciate their service and so should you. When entering into any contract, all terms should be followed.

It also appears that your age indicates you enjoyed a classroom with better funding, newer facilities, less inclusion, less high-needs student to teacher ratio, parents who were involved, who valued and paid attention to their children.

On top of all of this, the standards for school districts have been tightened, the bar and statistics have come to a point where schools look more like they are failing. The restrictions on suspensions have tightened, schools no longer can toss out the problematic students, students can no longer "drop out" at the age of 16.

Your English skills look like your teachers gave you a good start, and for that, you shoild be thankful. They should have concentrated on teaching more compassion and humantity. They should have been more thorough with teaching you to research all the facts before forming a hard decision. The Tea Party economics and "me first" mentality only looks at a small part of the equation. We understand there is not an infinite budget. We also understand prioritization.

LOL!

I am a Libertarian! You are not!

Get mad - but I believe in personal responsibility.

Taxation is THEFT!

Property taxes = THEFT!

Income Taxes = THEFT!

Therefore, IF your wages and benefits are derived from either, YOU are a THIEF!

Rationalize it all you can!

TSE said...

You do realize that Society can be financed by OTHER things besides:

PROPERTY TAXES and

INCOME TAXES!

End Instutionalized THEFT!

TSE said...

Yeah.

Imagine a SOCIETY based upon another metric then...

MONEY!

Yeah.

Imagine a SOCIETY based upon...

LOVE!

Geez... No more Memorial Days.. for those killed in WAR!

How come it's not happening?...

TSE said...

Vision of LOVE.

No mention of taxation or WAR!

What is your answer?

TSE said...

Inter generational Memorial Days for those killed in WAR -

Is a sick Society!

Defend it! I don't want your sickness!

I work very hard for my income. I steal nothing, nor am I angry. It appears, TSE, you enjoy trolling up blogs simply to incite an argument, hence your blasphemous assault to Veterans on Memorial Day. That isn't what the JTI is about. I agree with your statement about personal responsibility, but that only exists in an ideal world. I also totally agree that you don't need any additional sickness. Let's be done.

LM, sorry this went in a terrible direction. Your intention was from the heart.

PEACE

Remember that so few have sacrificed for so many.

Remember and Honor all those who have given the ultimate sacrifices for our freedom.

It is a big world we live on with a bunch of small people. We should battle our serpents, support our true public servants, and fight evil wherever it rears it's ugly head. Evil flourishes wherever good people do nothing.

I offer the optimist creed for consideration for this weekend.

My favorite is the last paragraph.

THE OPTIMIST CREED:

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Just as I began this post, I will end it with the salutation as some of my friends would say

SHALOM

kk, thanks :)
Clearly we've never met TSE, but most replies I have read in different blogs lead me to believe he/she was one of the core group that contributed to our exodus from our original home. Sad to have it come and start to muck up our site with hostility and harshness. I know the people, hearts and attitudes of most of our gang. It's sad that those that haven't met us can attack so freely.
The End.
