Little Richard - "Tutti Frutti" - from Don't Knock The Rock - HQ 1956

Some people say that Little Richard invented rock 'n' roll, but I don't think that any one person can lay claim to that.

Little Richard is alright, I wouldn't claim him as the inventor of rock and roll. Rock and roll is a process of evolution and to actually pinpoint it's origins is debatable. Some would claim Elvis Presley's "That Alright Mama" as the starting point. For others it is Bill Haley and the Comets "Rock Around the Clock". Some even go far back as the 1920's for the source.

At any rate, trying to figure that all out is enough to make anyone's head spin...

"The original lyrics, 'Tutti Frutti, good booty / If it don't fit, don't force it / You can grease it, make it easy', were replaced with 'Tutti Frutti, aw rooty! Tutti Frutti, aw rooty'."
