No, they should pay people to read The John Dickert Times.

Tellingly, the Journal Times has said nothing about a fire alarm and sprinklers going off in the Porter's development yesterday morning. As of 11 AM yesterday, no key holder could be found for the sprinklers and the RFD left the scene with the sprinklers still going.

Read about it here: http://racineinruins.wordpress.com/2013/12/21/porters-where-is-the-j-t/

I believe that policy of not turning off the alarm without a key holder is standard. There was a false alarm in a building I lived in. RFD responded, made sure the situation was clear and then left, with the alarm still blaring. They said the same thing: a key holder had to turn off the alarm. Unfortunately, our slumlord was headquartered in Milwaukee.

The Wisconsin State Journal doesn't limit articles - they are the Big Sister of The John Dickert Times.

Please consider adding them to your News Listing.

Wisconsin State Journal

Some others to consider:

Racine County Eye - the new Facebook Site of Heather and Denise - formerly of The Patch

There is also a direct link to Racine Uncovered on Facebook. RU is still using her Blog site, but the Facebook has the comments and is updated more often.

The JD Times will likely be collecting IP addresses to see who goes for the free - and then you'll get SPAMMED to death. They are also - LIKELY - using this to up the hit count for the purpose of advertising pricing.

I remember that the Civic Centre Committee said they wouldn't advertise on The JT because of the low circulation and low hit count on their site. Talk about the parasite killing the host! LOL.

HEY! BTW - where is that story about the Porters situation and not being able to find a Keyholder? Seems kind of Fishy to me. Something sure stinks at Racine City Hall.... Will the JD Times cover it?

...OR, will it go the way of the mysterious Zoo Gate Crasher in the Black GMC Envoy? Or, was that a golf cart? LOL.

HEY ORBS!

Here's a free one for 'ya!

Val Midwest!

A Nebraska woman faces charges after she bares it all at a Lincoln Catholic high school. When Valerie Dodds graduated Lincoln East High School, after transferring from St. Pius X High School during her senior year, she took a different path. “It looked like something that I just kind of wanted to try, I guess,” Dodds said. For fun, the 19-year-old started a nude photo business several months ago, but said her classmates did not like it. “That’s when all of the Pius kids were saying mean things and that’s when I decided to go there and show them that I’m here to stay,” she said. Dodds said she got back at them by flashing a little more than expected at a camera. She bared it all on school grounds late at night on Mother’s Day. Days ago, she received a ticket, citing her for trespassing and public nudity. “Why would you give me a ticket for public nudity if I’m trespassing onto private property?” Dodd said.

Val Midwest Facebook reports:

SO TODAY VALERIE DODDS AKA VALMIDWEST WAS SENTANCED TO 45 DAYS IN JAIL FOR HER PUBLIC NUDITY STUFF.

All links are PG.

Google her for the XXX.

My first thought was the JT was trolling for email addresses or IP 's to try to up their subscription rates. They still occasionally send me emails even though I've unsubscribed from all mailings.

And yes, I rarely go there for news. Every click is counted toward their advertising fees. I will not support them.

I was at Menards Friday. There was a sale person there selling the Journal/Sentinel mostly pushing their Sunday Edition.

I broke down and bought it; 52 issues for around the 1/3 of the normal cost AND it includes their online edition! Actually it came out to $0.48 a copy.

The main reason I bought it is because of the ads and the coupons in the Sunday addition.

I told him the JT isn't that good and you can sometimes read more about Racine in the Journal/Sentinel then in the JT. He told me almost everyone he talked with says the same thing.

Maybe I should buy the JT and we could have a local newspaper for the people by the people.
