Minus 3 degrees Fahrenheit at midnight. How low will it go? We should've started a pool.

Please stay indoors today. Remember your pets. Take all necessary precautions. Hug another person to keep warm. Huddling under the blankets is even better.

Lake County, IN declared a state of emergency and ordered everyone off the streets and to stay home, only emergency vehicles allowed out, due to the weather. My sister is more than happy to comply. I think we should do that as well, brr!

Drew just left for work and I am happy the car started for him. I agree with LM about the state of emergency with everything closed and stay off the streets. When I picked my daughter up from work the roads you could see a glare on the roads already. Right now I am being patient by the phone to make sure Drew makes it to work.

There is hope in the world! HE got up and started my car and made sure I made it until the end of the block!....Ok the driveway!
There is really a GOD! Thanks Mister L.

I never got any calls not to come into work at the hospital today...bummer.

The rest of you, use common sense. I like to spy on yards when I an driving and would gladly
call in animal abuser persons.
I also look in ditches and at people walking and try to notice for signs of hypothermia. I really want to be an Animal Control Officer,,,,really really
REALLY! I would be allowed to pack a piece and issue tickets
with exteremely heavy charges and fines...maybe jail.

My dog doesn't seem to understand why he can't go outside and lay down for a while. He is crazy.
Oklahoma City schools are now closed due to the temps which are 8 and minus 15.
However tomorrow is supposed to be 40.

Stay safe Irregulars. My sister is enjoying her first day of retirement. Said she was going to get a cup of coffee, look outside and say "ha, I don't have to go anywhere". Doesn't get much better than that.

Okay, Dillon from NBC is in Green Bay and showed a dumbass with his shirt off yesterday. Yes, he was one of ours. They walk among us.

There was a bird sitting on the feeder but couldn't get to the food cause there was snow covering it. SO, I bundled up, went out and cleared off the feeder and put some fresh seed out. Total time outside, 48 seconds. I came back inside, looked out the window and the bird was at the feeder eating. :)

The snow makes a funny squeaky crunchy sound when you walk on it. Weird.

-22 and the 2nd car won't start. Not going anywhere, anyhow. I alway's know It's really cold, when the hair In my nose freezes when I breathe through It. Kinda fun.

Did they fire Mike McCarthy yet? Dumb calls on 1st and goal.

when I got home from work, I was actually TOO warm - 2 pair of socks, fuzzy footy jammie pants, uniform pants, turtle neck, snug long sleeve toasty shirt, uniform shirt, heavy sweatshirt with hood up and pulled tight enough it came down to my eyeballs, scarf wrapped around twice, up to eyeballs, heavy leather jacket, zipped up, hood up, heavy gloves. Snug as a stiff bug, almost felt defiant, not feeling cold in my brief time outside :) glad to be home, will repeat tomorrow!

LM - another Kodak moment missed. I would like to have seen a picture of the fuzzy footy jammie pants.
You have to do what you have to do to keep warm. That doesn't mean it can't be amusing. :}

they laughed at me, doesn't faze me one little bit, I was toasty, even in drive thru for an hour, was too warm actually. If anybody was an opportunist, I will post one on facebook for you :) I had to bend backwards to look up, otherwise my eyes went up into the hood of the sweatshirt and I couldn't see, yup, I was a site, but will do whatever it takes to be comfy in this mess, can't wait for it to pass, sad when 20 looks warm!

It does not matter how you look to go out in this nasty weather it is just as long as you are warm and bundled up and you don't get frost bite. Especially for LM working in drive thru I know how that feels.

Also to just let everyone know there is no school in Racine. I just found out on Racine Uncovered.

I received a phone call reminding me of a doctor's appointment tomorrow that I didn't know about, in Kenosha. When my computer was repeatedly crashing, I lost my appointments. I called this doctor's office back then to ask when I had another appointment. They are NOT computerized and do all records manually. (What's up with that?) The person I talked to couldn't find an appointment for me so she made one in February. Now it turns out my appointment is for tomorrow. They want me to keep that one and forget the Feb. appointment. I told them, "If the truck starts, I'll be there."

What's galling is that this is a six month follow-up to check on my status and I'm fine. They won't accept that over the phone, though. I have to go there tomorrow and wait and wait for the doctor to ask me a few questions and then declare me OK. It was a bladder problem. She doesn't have x-ray vision. No one will "see" my bladder tomorrow. It's just health questions and it's another way to pile on the charges. If you have insurance, health care providers will milk every last cent they can from it. The goal is no longer health for the patient, but wealth for the providers.
