I will never understand why people leave valuables in their cars. Girl Scout money disappearing because "I left it in the car and never thought someone would steal it".

The days of leaving anything open are sadly gone.

Mary, gas stations are another one, you leave your purse or some valuable sitting on the seat while you go inside the store for something and they'll open the passenger door and take your stuff. specially if the pumps are parallel to the store, you don't see them open the door.

SER - I saw that. I get my card out and then lock the doors while I'm filling up. Which I should have done yesterday as gas prices jumped 13 cents overnight. Crap.

Oh boy, another thing to worry about. My truck is always locked, but this device beats that.

I agree about keeping valuables in your car, or keeping your car running while you run into a store. I still can't believe the stuff that people leave in unlocked cars. I recently parked at Regency Mall and the car next to me had both front windows open with a purse laying on the console. You can't fix stupid.

From an Insurance point, things like this can be sticky.

People think their car insurance covers theft. It does if it came with the car.

If you have your personal items stolden from the car, then it's your renters or home insurance coverage. And the deductible always applies.
