How are you? Have you unstuck
yourselves from the storm? Any damage
done? I heard there was a foot of snow
in Racine. Chicago
got half a foot more. The parking on side
streets becomes a real challenge. In
Chicago, amongst those who have to park on the street overnight, there is an
unspoken code that you don’t steal the spot of the guy who worked for an hour
and a half to clear his vehicle. People
put out kitchen chairs to reserve their spots.
I’m very lucky to be aided and abetted by Señor Zanza and Junior in snow
removal. Junior is a strong, young man
who can be wicked with the snow shovel.
The thing is, he needs an audience, primarily an audience of teen age
girls. All that Señor Zanza would say is
“Don’t worry. Everything will be fine in
the morning.” Miraculously, on the next
morning our sidewalk, driveway and apron were clear. Señor
Zanza was still sleeping. I quickly put on some clothes, a coat, hat and
boots. I went out and surveyed all of
our property. All driveway and walking
surfaces had been cleared, What got to
me is that there wasn’t a single mark left from a shovel, snow thrower, or a
plow. It’s like the snow melted in those
spots.
Sometimes Señor Zanza scares me a little.
How about those Patriots, huh? Calling a group of lying cheaters “Patriots”
is a slur. They’ll get a fine for
deflating their balls in a playoff game, but no one will take the title away
from them. The message to the kids: go
ahead and cheat. Our Super Bowl
“winners” do it.
We have some elections coming up shortly and it would serve
us all if we sought out information on the candidates. http://www.jtirregulars.com/2015/02/racine-county-eye-taxpayers-assoc.html Mr. Mayor Dickert’s office is up for
grabs. It would behoove us if we also
vote, for any side. And stop the
inevitable mudslinging. They should
serve free food at polling places. That would
swell the turnout. Free beer would be
even better, but who wants a bunch of drunks deciding our fate? Yuck!
It was Groundhog Day two days ago and our local groundhog
saw her shadow, so we get six more weeks of winter. That makes sense. If only someone would plug all of the
groundhog’s entrances and exits, he/she would be a no-show. Then what?
Everyone gets drunk and goes home, wondering what the next six weeks
hold in store for them.
Driving conditions were worsened by last night’s snow, so
please be careful out there. I curse
this weather. Every year I say I’m going
to move to a warmer climate. But I never do.
So, this year I’m not even going to try.
To heck with it. Maybe that way
I’ll actually do it.

Take it easy in the snow.
Allow more time. Slow down. (I fishtailed today. Oh my.) The snow makes everything more
difficult. Be careful and be mindful of
your surroundings. I don’t ever want to
lose an Irregular to a crash in snow.

Madame- Sunday's snow storm was really crazy. I was having little snow tornado's on my patio when the wind picked up. On Monday I could not get Drew to work and he had to call into work on Monday. The snow drifts around our car was about half way up the car.
The Super Bowl game was really good. I enjoyed the whole game but I was hoping the Seattle Seahawks would have won the game.

It sure was sloppy out there today. Now comes the cold, and we'll have to crunch through the ice on the roads and sidewalks. Every year, it gets harder and harder to deal with.
Work continues to be super busy. I'm even dreaming of it. It is so sad to witness the apathy and anger many of our children live. If you have any suggestions, madame, on how to help them see the error of their ways, and that hard work and achievement actually makes one happier, please send those hints my way. I believe we need to stay away from potions... dosing them would surely get me fired.
I've always thought that Señor Zanza is a bit creepy. Man of mystery.
kk, there was a guy on the Journal Times' site a few years ago. I can't remember his name. We traded a few messages. He went to local jails and prisons (on his own time) to talk to young offenders and try to set them straight. He was astounded by the anger and apathy he encountered. He said most of them didn't give a damn about society or themselves.
I do, and I don't understand the whole deflategate. If they played with underinflated balls, then both teams played with the same balls, which wouldn't give either an advantage, or am I wrong??
