I will be without a stove/oven Friday thru Monday, so today is prep/cook day, so everything will either be cookout or micro-reheat, I'm thinking tacos and burgers. Hubby will be demolishing part or all of the kitchen floor starting tonight

LM, I hope you have a great holiday weekend. I believe that you can cook on a grill anything you'd put in or on a range. I can't do it, but I believe it. The best part is YouTube videos for Thanksgiving showing idiots setting fire to their garages and/or homes as they put turkeys in outdoor deep fryers.

State Farm® - "Turkey Fryer Fire Danger" - State Farm® - "Turkey Fryer Fire Danger".

Everyone enjoy the days and family and fun, but please keep a vigilant eye out. Criminals, and idiots, are becoming more bold.

Yep, Orbs is right. we used our grill for about two weeks when I had a new countertop installed in WI. It worked just fine.

Have a great day, everyone!

Oh yeah, I've been getting sick every other day for six days. Grueling. It's never been like this before. Right now I'm OK, i.e., I'm not puking.

Sorry to hear you continue to be plagued with sickness, orbs. Hoping for you that it passes quickly.

Liz, better to be without a kitchen, than a bathroom. I've even made pizza on the grill. It can be done.

It must be "oven" week. I cleaned our NEW oven yesterday and afterward, it wouldn't open. Now it will open but the light is on and it won't work. Tried everything the book told us but it still won't work. I will be going to the grocery store and top on the list is charcoal. Not the best weekend to have it happen.

BUT, today is the last day before a 3 day weekend. It will be a good day. Stay better Orbs.

Have a great day Irregulars.

I hope every one has a Happy and Safe 4th.

We are heading to WI for the weekend. Just got back from spending almost 2 weeks there. FIL's wife was in a coma, they said any day now. So I went and spent a week with him. Came back home for one day planning on going back on Tuesday and she passed Tuesday morning. Funeral was Friday & Saturday. Came back home Sunday and now heading back there. I need to start leaving clothes there so I don't have to pack so much!

Some guy that owns a firework company in Milwaukee lives on the lake at Dad's, so we get treated to professional type fireworks. Sometimes, 4-5 different people are shooting them off so it's constant fireworks. Kinda cool

I know I can cook on the grill, once when the power went out and supper was in the oven, we put it out to finish, worked great. I had to get all prep work done so I'm not in the way.I pounded some burgers out, ready to go, made taco meat up, and prepped all the toppings, should be good to go, and dishes all done as well. That's the plus side.
This afternoon, my sister in law called. My mother in law, who is 88, and the most wonderful woman on the planet, is in the hospital, they found cancer on her esophagus and her pancreas. They don't know if it's the same cancer in both places, as in spreading, or 2 different. Tests should be back tonite or tomorrow. If it's the same, we were given an estimate of maybe 6 months. I knew she wouldn't live forever, but she is one person I will never be able to say goodbye to :( You know that nice guy, soft center to the hubby that he tries so hard to hide? yup, that's from her! She's amazing, and awesome, and the reason I stuck around when he drove me crazy when we were dating.

I cooked an entire Thanksgiving Dinner on a Weber Genesis grill once. That included the Pumpkin pies. I did the gravy on the side burner. That grill lasted a long time. I did a Rib Roast once on a spit, In the same grill. About 15 minutes after starting It I looked out the kitchen window, and the entire grill was In flames, BIG FLAMES. I opened the lid, and grabbed the wooden spit handle, and frantically tried to remove the roast from the grill. I finally got It out, and It was BLACK as coal. All the fat on the top hit the flavorizer bars, and WOOF, up It went. I put It back In with a pan to catch the grease under It, and finished cooking It, and It was WONDERFUL. BTH, FOR THOSE THAT GRILL, AND CLEAN THE GRILL WITH A WIRE BRUSH. I WOULDN'T ADVISE IT. IF YOU MUST, USE A CRUMBLED PIECE OF FOIL TO GET ANY BIG CHUNKS OFF, AND THE EXTREME HIGH HEAT WILL STERILIZE THE GRILL ANYHOW. IF, Like I did, you get a wire In your food, and It sticks In the back of your throat, you not going to be happy. WORSE yet, If you swallow It, you may puncture your intestines, and IT WILL kill you.
