White House Astronomy Night

Next Monday, October 19th, there will be an Astronomy Night at the White House. There will be telescopes set up at the White House for invited guests, students and VIPs.

They are encouraging local astronomy clubs to host events around the country on that night, but I don't see anything listed on the Racine Astronomical Society website. I have heard there will be a livestream of the event, but I haven't seen the link yet.

Here is the press release about the event.

I can't tell you if they are doing something here as the page showing events is locked up.

Where will you be Hale?

One of my good friends will be in attendance. I hope to see some amazing photos of that person... maybe focusing the telescope on something interesting for the POTUS? Alas, my life is drab; I have to live vicariously.

I will be at a secure and undisclosed location :-)

Hale, run for president, please. Then I'd have someone I believe in to vote for.

Secure and undisclosed location? I think Hale is being highly Irregular.

:) Just sitting here smiling like the Cheshire Cat. I hope my friend has a great time. I'm sure it will be memorable.
