He is just trying to figure what that nasty white stuff is.

Letting you know he prefers grass. How much snow did you get?

From the JT: "RACINE COUNTY — The area was digging out Saturday after the first winter storm of the season dumped between 6 and 8½ inches of wet, heavy snow in the county."

I haven't gone out at all today. May not tomorrow, either, depending on the weather.

Good grief. That's a lot of snow.

On another note, thanks again Orbs for the advice about the tinsel on the tree. He managed to find the one strand that we missed but we got it from him before any damage was done.

You're more than welcome. One of the cats of a woman I was dating 20 years ago ate a string or two of tinsel. His name was Tiger. And he got very sick. The vet wouldn't operate for some reason I've long forgotten. They probably would have to bring in specialists for the surgery, if it can be done at all.

I became Tiger's nursemaid. His treatment essentially was we get as much oil down his throat as we could, until that tinsel slid out of his asshole. It finally worked for Tiger, and I was in tears. He perked up quickly and soon was on the hunt for more tinsel. Cats!

Yes, cats. I'd like some advice how to keep mine from waking up at 4:00 a.m. coming on the bed and the shelf above it to paw at us. This morning he was playing with my glasses. So far I'm pretending to be asleep so I don't have to get up. :}

OKIE, that's probably your best bet. My mom made the mistake of getting up in the middle of the night when her cats were pestering her. She would feed them. Of course, this soon became the habit with the cats. I told mom she was crazy to feed the cats in the middle of the night, and she said, "So what? I gotta get up to pee, anyways."

Charlie comes into my bedroom each night (morning) as I go to sleep. Just when I'm about to sleep, he jumps on the bed and bites me or yowls. Every time, it scares the shit out of me. When he wants me to get up, he keeps nipping at my hands. He also knows when I'm sick and doesn't bother me other than to rub up for a little love.
