John F. Kennedy

"John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States (1961-1963), the youngest man elected to the office. On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, JFK was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, becoming also the youngest President to die."

The JFK assassination was my first experience of a moment in time when you forever remember exactly where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news.  Too many more moments like those occurred.

I believe that the JFK assassination changed the world.

Back in the days before cellphones and the Internet, we were notified by someone who had access to a radio or TV. We were told by our teachers. We all remember where we were at that moment. Jacqueline Kennedy taught us how to grieve with dignity.

I was 9 at the time but remember most of it. I remember everyone being very sad. And then, we can't forget the Zapruder film which showed everything.

I was one who thought there was a conspiracy as things didn't add up. I don't know whether it was the Discovery Channel or History Channel that showed modern day forensics on how everything happened. Although I do think Oswald killed him, I always wonder what happened to the Umbrella Man. Just as the motorcade turned the corner, the umbrella went up and shots rang out. That being said, it was a sunny warm day so it could have been to block the sunlight.

It was also the first time I watched someone get murdered. Now I get to see it on a daily basis. Sad.

I don't really remember it. I think I was young enough to be shielded from it. 9/11 will always be that moment in time with the news where I will remember where I was. Let's hope nothing trumps that one.
