It's FRIDAY!!!!! Sun is out, temps on the rise, working computer. I do need to change the font though as it's too light and too little.

Have a great great day Irregulars.

what a day... I wanted to call in to work but knew we were down at least one person... this cold is not nice but worse than that, I possibly scratched my eye yesterday morning and could barely open it (my only good eye...) this morning, I could not even try reading anything on the computer, and it's still really hard. I am grounding myself for the weekend to jammies and bed and being a bum. Now to rest eye poor sore eye :( I will have to catch up on the rest of the posts when I can see again

Our Mayor Is having what he call Arbor Day today. They have cut HUNDREDS of trees down, now they are going to plant like a dozen of them, only to kill them, because the Director of Public Works doesn't have the manpower to water and take care of them. We were named a Tree City In 2015 JUST BEFORE they cut 20 trees down downtown. I love Mauston.

Happy Earth Day. Toad, in downtown Racine they have trees planted in those metal grill torture chambers. The trees die regularly and they just replace them. Apparently it's cheaper to plant new trees than it is to take care of the ones we have. There was a large silver maple outside my window when I moved in. They cut that down last year. Wait till the emerald ash borer gets here. I bet up to a third of our trees are ash. Soon, they'll be all gone, like the elms we lost 50 some years ago. When I was a kid, Chatham Street was lined with elms that formed a continuous archway down the street. It was beautiful. Then they had to cut then all down.

Uh-oh. Lizardmom, did your cold start with a sore throat? All of a sudden, it's sore when I swallow.

actually, it started pain free just losing my voice, then a very shallow useless cough, by the next day it was painful :(
now the cold has progressed to my chest and feels like a ton of bricks. I have grounded myself for the weekend to take this beast on. I shall win or die trying
