"Adoption fees will be waived during the month of July so that humane societies in Southeast Wisconsin can try to find homes for 1,000 cats who are a year or older.
"'Just eight weeks ago we had empty adoption suites and today, we have more than 160 cats and kittens on our adoption floor looking for new homes,' said Wisconsin Humane Society President Anne Reed in a press release. 'We’re hearing similar trends from our colleagues throughout Southeastern Wisconsin and we’re hoping this initiative will inspire more cat adoptions throughout the entire region.'

'Don’t overlook these amazing pets – they are grown up, fully trained and settled into their personalities. What’s not to like?!?'"

I'd love to get Charlie a buddy cat about his age, male or female. But what if it doesn't work out?
I think if Charlie hits it off when they meet, you're safe :) my 1st thought reading this, was that Charlie needs a buddy to play with and get into trouble with :)
At the old apartment building, Charlie had a pal next door, Nipper. Nipper is considerably younger than Charlie. They would chase each other around and then when Charlie had enough, he'd knock Nipper down good a couple of times.
So I was thinking of a cat more Charlie's age. Unfortunately, if I get another cat, I have to pay an additional $200 security deposit and $10 or $20 more a month in rent, I can't remember which. The Humane Society will call our office to make sure cats are allowed in the building, so there's no sneaking him/her in.
Maybe it's for the best.
