They are/were double decker cars which were great for viewing the country side etc.

I compared some of their rates to flying.
Flying - Chicago to Seattle - $684 to $725 – Round trip

Train - Milwaukee to Seattle - $604. This is one reserved seat and zero amenities. You sleep in the seat and it is a 44 hour ride!SERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12011742429467763315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-514457884876261588.post-69494251577423784742010-08-13T17:58:24.746-05:002010-08-13T17:58:24.746-05:00Gee, thanks for the update. Just what I was looking for... tee hee.

I watched a PBS or Travel Channel program that showed Amtrak's Empire Builder route and the stunning scenery you can see from the train. Also, I prefer to shower every day, and prefer my company to do the same.kkditherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16181697760037435065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-514457884876261588.post-42368827557734627702010-08-13T10:55:57.748-05:002010-08-13T10:55:57.748-05:00I took the train once from Phoenix to Chicago. TGV stands for Tres Grande Vitesse, meaning: very fast, in French.

I notice that we have no photo of Amtrak?kkditherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16181697760037435065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-514457884876261588.post-6123398719117134472010-08-13T00:21:16.186-05:002010-08-13T00:21:16.186-05:00I took the TGV from Paris to Strasborg a couple ye...I took the TGV from Paris to Strasborg a couple years ago...sweet ride.hale-bopphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02912748388430176772noreply@blogger.com
