One girl new to the office scene said she was NOT going to make coffee. I thought she has a lot of growing up to do. Besides you make good $$ when making coffee in the office. You certainly can't wear your nurse's uniform in a bar. If my assistant had shown up wearing a Packers tie under the same circumstances, I would have demanded that he remove it. (Bears fans do NOT like the Packers.) If he refused, my Service Mgr. would have removed it for him. I agree with MC that "It's all about dressing correctly for your job." I'm thinking there was a bigger beef with this employee that preceded this.

He wasn't showing too much skin, wasn't unclean or too casually dressed, wasn't wearing profanity. I...I have seen and heard this story so many times.
IMO, it has less to do with him wearing a Packer tie in Bear country, it has more to do with insubordination. He was told FIVE times to take it off. THEN he was fired. Would the same thing have happened if the Bears had won? I doubt it, and him throwing in the "Grand Mother card" was a little too much. It's all about dressing correctly for your job.
JMHOMinnesotaChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13932758634212107430noreply@blogger.com
