Yet another snowstorm is headed for Wisconsin; 2 to 8 inches possible depending where you live; bitter cold to follow

More snow appears headed for Wisconsin this week as yet another winter storm approaches the state.

Once the storm moves through, bitter cold arctic air will sweep across Wisconsin for the upcoming weekend, forecasters say.

Snow could begin falling Wednesday night in northern and central Wisconsin, with snow falling Thursday across much of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

The heaviest snowfall is expected Thursday afternoon, according to the weather service.

This storm will differ from the past two that have dumped more snow on southern Wisconsin than it has seen in more than a decade.

Higher snowfall totals are expected north and west of Milwaukee, "and that's different from the last two (storms,)" said Marcia Cronce, a weather service meteorologist in Sullivan.

"It just has a different look than we saw with the last two systems," Cronce said. "It's going to be really heavy, wet snow, or a rain snow mix/wintry mix early on and then it will change over to all snow as the system moves to our east."
