Four for Fridays

Hello everybody! Welcome back to Four for Fridays after a difficult week. A three day weekend is on it's way and it couldn't come at a better time. Let's kick it off with some random questions...

1) If you could own a business, what kind of business would you run?

2) If you could change something in your past, what would you change?

3) Do you think there is life on other planets?

4) Do you know sign language?

Enjoy your weekend!

1. I own my own business and I would prefer to work for someone else. Let them have all the headaches and worries.

2. The only thing in my past I would like to change I will not discuss here. Let's just say, I wish I could say 'no' easier.

3. Yes.

4. Nope...but wish I did.

Great questions Drew... I can tell you thought long & hard for these...lol
1. I'd be like my buddy Jed Clampet and find some "black gold". Actually I think anything in the renewable energy field is the place to be now.
2. Quote from Mike Ditka..."Only cowards and losers live in the past"
3. I have a degree in anthropology...yes, and I hope they are doing better than we are.
4. I know two signs. 1 is one we all know...lol... the other is asking for the check...lol

Thanks again Drew. I hope ya'll have a safe and happy weekend.

1. It would be a small business. Maybe some sort of craft, art or specialty shop.
2. I think I would have pursued my degree earlier in life.
3. I think with all the planets and stars in the universe, we would be egotistical to think we are the only ones. What that life might be? Who knows.
4. I can finger sign the alphabet. I know some words but can't converse. I would like to learn more. I find it fascinating.

A fun story from my past. When I was 17 I worked at one of the Racine Hospitals. I was very fond of a Nurses Aide In the Pediatric Dept. and because I was what was called a "runner", which meant I was all over the Hospital picking paperwork etc. up to go to different departments. One of the custodians was deaf, and he gradually taught me how to finger sign. I was hopeless at 17 and when I would walk though the Ped. Dept. and see my lovely friend I would sign "I Love You" Well, she didn't know what the heck I was doing, until I finally came out, and explained finger signing to her. It took forever, (seven years) for It to sink In to her, but In 1973 we were married, and still are.

1. I would say either an improv theater or an astronomy B&B (astronomy B&Bs typically have a variety of telescopes guests rent for observing and imaging...more of them exists than you probably think!)

2. Kind of with Stu on this one. Even things that I look back on and could think of as mistakes most people would say I should change, I still got here because of or in spite of them and don't want to mess around with the past too much!

3. Good odds...hope to know for sure in my lifetime.

4. Not even the swear words!

1. An Elite tool Room with high end capabilities and a staff of personnel highly regarded in the Engineering world as the best of their trade.

2. I would have changed how something went down when I was 11 years old. My choice at the time profoundly affected the rest of my life.

3. Intelligent life? Absolutely. Do I think there is life close enough for us to interact, highly doubtful. I also think there might be other life within our solar system such as on Europa, one of Saturn's moons.

4. Some, plus the alphabet. No one I know knows it well enough for me to become fluent and use it regularly.

Europa is one of Jupiter's moons, Huck. Sorry, can't get that one by me!

Europa is a candidate for life with what appears to be a large ocean beneath miles of ice.

1) Landscape business, a small one. I had one, but had to give it up.

2) I would change everything about my past. Everything. I am one of Mike Ditka's loser/cowards. There is little that I do not regret. If it had to be only one thing, though, then I should have pursued a PhD. I could have found a nice job at a university and got tenure. That was very doable in 1970's.

3) Yeah, the math favors life somewhere else in the universe, but who knows where.

4) I don't know sign language, but my ex-sister-in-law does, or did.

1) I've always dreamed of owning a record store.

2) I'd party lees and study more.

3) Maybe something not is as intelligent as we are, but a planet full of animals.

4) Like kk, I know a few letters and words by heart. I'm extremely interested in learning more.

Huck: My dad was a Lamination Die Maker. If he were still alive today he would be 95. He died at 56, In 1971 He was regarded as perhaps the BEST Tool and Die Maker In the city. ALL of his work was done using what would be ANTIQUE machines today. Much of the work actually entailed hand work. A complete set of progressive Lamination dies took a year to make. He was a master, and your personal wish just reminds me of him. He would be soooooooooo fascinated by today's technology. NOT opposed to It, just fascinated. I have his old wooden machinists tool chest, and his precision hand made Tool Makers vise. I think you could hold a human hair In the vise? I have brought your passion for Tool Work up before, but you don't seem interested in discussing It. I am fascinated by your skills, and wish you were more vocal about them. The small CNC machine you build sounded interesting.
