Well, a little googling reveals that this is just an easy target since it's connected to a prominent Congressman. This program has been going on for over 30 years and many airports have subsidies per passenger much larger than this one. There was a USA Today article about this in late 2007.
I knew I read about this recently, and found the recent AP story which has more details.
Yes, these are the people who are going to "fix" health care in the USA.
