Muddy Waters of Root River

The water is going over the dam at a pretty good clip but it is not at a dangerous level. I looked at Island Park and Liconlon Feild and it would have to raise another 3 feet to become a problem.

CAUTION THIS VIDEO IS VERY LOUD!

I took a short video of the water to show how noisy it is down there.

  1. Don't even want to think the thought of the park flooding again.. What a mess that was.

  2. I remember last summer when it flooded by the parks. That was after the bad storm we had.

  3. I remember when they announced 'on the radio' that the dam had busted (the ice broke up). It was a yearly thing. They also announced on the radio when the perch were running.

  4. Nice pictures, SER. Thanks for posting them! I recall Spring Street was flooded back then, too. It was a huge mess. I haven't checked out the LOUD video, yet. Don't want to blow away my colleagues or scare the kiddies.

  5. Reminds me of a Doc Watson song - "Moody River"

  6. One of my sister's in-laws' home on Spring St. was flooded last year, or was it two years ago? Anyway, the basement was flooded to the house's floorboards. Major, major damage. I'm surprised it wasn't condemned.

SER, I love that your "Muddy Waters" video on YouTube prompts links to videos of Muddy Waters the blues musician.

  7. I stood on the same spot just after last year's flooding. Kinda neat watching the water rage past.
