"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."

  1. Good morning, all. It is a brutally cold one out there. There is no school because of MLK Day. There might not have been school due to the weather, anyway. Please be safe, friends, if you must go out. Make sure you have a hat, mittens or gloves, and a full charge on your phone.

I'm staying in. I fixed a ham over the weekend. Today is the perfect day to make pea soup to warm my belly.

  2. I work for an African American and I am working today. I shall have to "guilt" him later. It is cold here (19) but a lot warmer than up there.

I do wish more people would listen to what Dr. King had to say. We'd be a lot better off.

    Stay safe and warm Irregulars.

  3. After dealing with the cold yesterday taking my daughter back to school I told Drew he is taking the car to work and I am staying home in the warmth. I hope everyone stays warm today.

  4. KK, YUM, Pea soup. It's been awhile, but I usually make a Gallon of It, using all the ham, and bone from a half ham made for dinner. When they sell them for .99 a LB. around Easter, Is the best time. The dogs go berserk over the bones. I had to stop putting diced carrots In, because SHE doesn't like them In Pea soup.

  5. What a wild Sunday morning here. Wind, storms, tornados, flooding. January? Go figure.

Cool few days for us. Highs about 60-66; lows around 40. This is our brutal winter.

Dr. King had such a vision. We have not seen the likes of him since he was assassinated. While part of his dream has been realized, a lot has not.

  6. Not a fan of pea soup. That being said, there is a package of assorted beans you can buy that you have to soak for a while. After they are done, mix a little ham in there and you have a great hearty bean soup. I have the beans and no ham.

  7. My buddy who gave me a ham for Christmas also gave me a recipe for using the bone. It's kinda like Pot Roast only with ham bone, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and beans.

  8. Well, I didn't have to "guilt" my boss. He called to say he'd be in at 12:00. Haven't seen him yet.

  9. OMG and now I read where Glenn Fry of the Eagles has died. Not a good week for musicians.
