Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will step into the shoes one of his idols growing up when he guest-hosts an upcoming episode of "Jeopardy!"

Rodgers broke the news Tuesday on his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he will be among guests temporarily filling in on game show hosting duties after the death of Alex Trebek on Nov. 8.

The date of Rodgers' episode has not yet been announced. Ken Jennings, who has the most wins in "Jeopardy!" history, was the first to guest-host Monday. The last episode filmed with Trebek as the host aired Friday.

Rodgers is a self-described "humongous fan" of the game show and competed on "Celebrity Jeopardy!" in 2015. He was victorious over "Shark Tank's" Kevin O'Leary and retired astronaut Mark Kelly, winning $50,000 for Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.
