Some Spring Pictures

Due to the nice weather we had today, I decided to go out for a drive and take a few pictures.

Wind Point Lighthouse

Lake Michigan

Racine Harbor

A rare visitor to Racine-a lesser scaup

ENJOY!

  1. Thanks for the pics, drew. Yes, spring is springing. Some grass is already greening up in our backyard. Come on, sun!

  3. Thanks for the pictures.. I miss that lake..

We have a little patch of grass peeking through the snow in the front yard... gives me hope that someday this snow will melt.

  6. Ok, Sassa... this is creepy. I was looking up that very poem today to find who wrote it. I'm doing a bulletin board on spring poems and wanted to include the author.

So where did you hear this one? My mom used to tell it to us as kids. She said it a bit differently than yours.

"Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’, I wonder where the birdie is?

There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!

    It's alright, I won’t cry,
Aren't you glad that cows can’t fly!"

  7. kk, your version sounds vaguely familiar to me, at least the part about being glad that cows can’t fly.
