Fungi for Fungi

I was in South Carolina last week and took these pictures just for our Fungi. Enjoy. Yeah, I know, the snail isn't of the same ilk!
Had a devil of a time with Comcast going down all afternoon...so am publishing it before they screw with me again~

  2. Wow. Nice pics. Are they all edible? Do you know the different types?

My mom talks fondly about going out mushroom picking when she was a kid in the old country. And she's fond of mushrooms. I can take them or leave them. I agree with a friend:
"Mushrooms taste like whatever you cook them with."

  3. Orbs, I wouldn't send me out to pick you some mushrooms to go with your steak...have not a clue, but they were sure pretty! Personally, I like Portabellos...I just had some tonight with a nice steak...can't say I cooked them; but I did buy them! LOL...

  7. Isn't there a general rule in nature??? If it is red, it can make you dead? But then what about apples and strawberries?

  8. I never heard that rule, kk, though I have heard, "Better dead than red."

I do know that you have to know what you're doing with the mushrooms, or it could be fatal.
